    Hey,

I am thinking of developing a new product, throughout my research I have found that many product pitch pages have privacy statement.

I just want to know the pros and cons of having a privacy statement. Also if anyone could give me a link on how to make effective privacy statements that will be great. That is only of course if privacy doesn't affect sales in a negative manner.

    Thanks
    Derron

Are you sure you even need one???

Go check out such sites as Amazon, and copy it.

You know that he makes sure his ass is covered.

Nobody reads privacy staments, so they will not hurt your sales.

Hmm yeah good point, but a privacy statement makes the sales page look more professional right?

only use privacy statements if your collecting sensitive information. keep a link to your privacy statement on your main page. state what you will do and will not do with the information.
thats my best guess, i dont realy know.

Don't copy anything. It's wrong! Use someone's privacy statement as a guide only to write your own. Make it different.

You can get a free privacy policy at this site (click on "free utilities")...
    http://www.prioritydigital.com/

Still, you may want to have it reviewed by legal counsel to ensure
it does what you're wanting ;)
