I am looking to add some banners to one of my sites, but I am not too sure as to whom I should go with. I have seen that most sites in my Niche are running Tribal Fushion. I took a look at their site and they seem to have what I want, but the tremendous buzz around Azoogle is luring me in. Can anyone give some pointers? I have a primarily 15-25 audience with around 40k uniques per day, and 300k page views per day. And no this is not a Myspace site...
TribalFusion and Azoogle are NOT the same thing. Azoogle is mostly affiliate marketing (although they have begun testing out PPC ala Adsense), where you place a link, someone clicks, and you make a commission if the click turns into a buy. TribalFusion is CPM -- you are paid per 1000 impressions regardless if anyone clicks or buys anything. As to whether you should go with TF or not, why not go ahead and apply? You can do quite well with 40K/day, but TF is a high tier network, so they can afford to be selective about who they let into their network. Depending on what kind of site you have, and what their needs are at the moment, they may reject you despite your high numbers. But I recommend applying to TF, Fastclick (now Valueclick Media), and Casale anyway. If all three takes you, put all three networks on your site.
I see. I am leaning more towards the CPM companies. What are some good ones to look at? I am obviously looking for the ones that pay the most. I went ahead and applied to Tribal Fushion, and I am now checking out value click as well.
If you plan on using all the banner options -- pop-ups, banners, interstatials, etc -- when Fastclick can potentially make you more money than TF. But TF will have more targeted ads for your site, whereas Fastclick will tend to be very generic and unattractive "click here to win!"-type ads.
How do you guys decide on a CPM network? There are so many it's hard to choose from... BTW, I am signing up for Value Click to see how I do.
Well basically it's the "Apply to all of them and use whoever approves you" approach. Why limit yourself? Get into as many good paying ones (and some not-so-good paying ones) as you can and then put them in a network chain. I.e. the one with the highest CPM rate goes first, the one with the second highest CPM rate becomes the first default, etc. On a couple of my sites I have two CPM networks running at the same time. They don't demand exclusive rights to your site, so there is no need to limit yourself.
From what I hear Tribal Pays the best. I am going to call tommorow to see if I can get in. They don't seem to really respond to emails. A few people in my niche are making good $ off tribal.
You can apply to join our CPM network. We are in beta phase right now and accepting a select number of applicants. Click on my signature.
I spoke with a rep over the phone. She said my site looks good;however, I should wait a few months because my traffic graphics have a sudden spike and they would like to see if it's just temporary or steady growth.
