So I'm currently running an ecommerce site and I've been using a regular paypal premiere account, but now I'm considering upgrading to a Paypal merchant account so that people can pay without having to be registered with Paypal. Is paypal one of the better merchant providers around? Or are there better ones? Rates-wise. Thanks.
Okay, and to clarify: Paypal merchant account will enable my customers to pay via CC without having a paypal account of their own, correct?
IMO,paypal charge the fee is too high and its not worth it. Now i using swreg coz their introduce 1 flat rate fee which is much more cheaper than paypal.
I used to work in the merchant account area, I can offer these tips when comparing to PayPal. When looking at the merchant account, consider: What is the per transaction fee? What is the discount rate? What is the non-discount rate? What is the chargeback fee? What is the credit fee? When are settlesments done? Is there a monthly fee? Is there a statement fee? Is there an AVS fee? Is there a reserve (should only be for high risk)? What is your monthly limit? Hope this helps, Mike
Hi, It's relatively easy to acquire a Pay Pal merchant account (at least in my experience) however I'm not really sure that it's worth it. I've had Pay Pal freeze my account (the money that I had just earned) for what seemed like no reason. When I finally got them on the phone it was because my account had a rush of sales that had set of some sort of internal FLAG in their system. It took three weeks to get it all sorted out. When all was said and done they apologized and released the funds. But still after that, I won't use them again. Best Wishes, Megan
The best i have found is Plimus, charges are higher than 2checkout, but thier payment verification is excellent. you should try it. www.plimus.com
Yes, 2checkout.com is a best merchant account but it is costly. Though the services are excellent including support.
If any developer is free to tweak a plimus gateway for cubecart, PM me. Also anyone interested in this let me know if you'll be needing it.
Paypal has their website payments pro feature, which will allow you to integrate a payment gateway with your shopping cart. That way you won't have to redirect your visitors to the Paypal payment page. So, in effect, it works exactly like a regular merchant account. Now, would I recommend them...not so much. I think you're better off with a MerchantPlus, CDGCommerce or Dharma Merchant Services. All great companies with great customer service.
paypal is the best merchant account provider no doubt at all but moneybookers and check out is also some of the best merchants, moneybookers is best in my opinion.
spyromike, is practical, Very good. you all need to take into measure before U go. NO patience just stick with paypal..they do offer what you asked.
