I want to get some feedback to what is an appropriate amount to pay for article writing.

It would be for good quality articles 1500 words long.

A 1,500 word article can be anywhere from $10 to $50 depending on the source.

At freelance sites, writers normally charge $15 for writing 1500 words article. However, depending on the quality of content, the place where you are doing this work, the person for whom you are doing this article job: the pay can vary. Pay can be $100: example of such payment can be seen at Helium's market place.

If you can outsource it I heard it can go much cheaper than that.

It honestly depends on the quality of content you're looking to get - for top quality content, 1000 words will be in the $100 region.

I used to pay somebody to write articles for me. It was $72.00 for eight 500 word articles. The price may have been a little high but the content was excellent so I didn't mind.

This is very true. There will be variance in the quality of the articles and, indeed, in some instances cheaper writers will be better than more expensive ones, but generally the old adage applies: you get what you pay for.

You can set the payment with your article writer and your budget. How long would you want to finish the article, that is time frame.$15-30 i think so.

Just remember that they are writing content in YOUR voice, to help YOU become an expert and get traffic. So, if you consider that a well written article will bring you years of traffic and sales, you would want to have the best quality and be willing to pay for that quality.

You can try Odesk, eLance and GetAFreelancer. There are people here who write as well.

in my opinion there is no fixed price for article writing, you can get it whatever price you want. seriously i mean it, i have had article writer (very average types) at even $2 per 100 words, and if i search for one in any of the freelancers site, i can get very good writers at $2 per 500 words. so there is no such fixed set of rules or prices as far as article writing is concerned!

    Imagine this:

You're a writer who loves creating content. You only have two clients, John and Mary. They both pay you on time and they're both great to work with. John pays $0.02 per word, but Mary pays $0.05 per word. Psychologically, who do you think will get better writing out of you?

    Mary will, of course.

The same is true for servers in a restaurant - if a table comes in frequently enough and I know they tip well, chances are they'll get above average service from me. Most things are like that.

Personally, if I charge $0.03 per word for general articles that require a little research when everyone else is charging $0.01 per word, I have to ask myself what justifies the price increase. If I believe my writing warrants it, I do a great job, and my clients are satisfied, why shouldn't I? If my clients get 30 clicks on their resource box when they only would have gotten 10 with someone else, was it worth the extra $0.02 per word? To them it is.

I never compete on price - in today's market, that's impossible. Quality is where my work really shines. The old adage "you get what you pay for" does indeed apply.
