If god is infinite why did he only decide to create the earth 5 billion years ago (6000 years ago if you are a young earth creationist)? What did he do before that? I look forward to hear whatever contrived rationalisation you have fabricated to facilitate a continued believe in the patently absurd.
The human mind can not comprehend the term "infinite". Everything we know of has a beginning and an end for us. Even if you draw a circle, you have a beginning and an end point from whence you drew it. You will always remember that circle as that movement with a beginning and an end. We know infinity exists, but we can not comprehend it. Everything we know of has come from something, so at some point, there had to be something that always was and always will be. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Againa man you have to ask yourself where did those 2 universes come from? You see how silly it is for atheists to judge theists on this when it they themselves that believe that it all just existed. Its like the pot calling the kettle black. The thing is theists have something called faith. Atheists say they only believe what they can see and rationalize. How can they rationalize that any universe could have just existed. If those 2 universes collided with each other, ask yourself how did those 2 universes also come into existence and so on and so on and so on. At the end of the day you end up with atheists believing the universe (no matter which universe) have always existed. Atheists pride themselves on being so rational, but anyone with common sense can see that they are arguing from a position of believing in magic , which is supposed to be the opposite of what they say they believe in. Why dont we just leave it at that and let the theists who believe that human beings are more then just nerves , ganglions, flesh and bones to our beliefs and we will leave the atheists to their beliefs that human beings have no soul, no heart, and are basically fleshly robots with nerves and electrical impulses?
What kind if brain damage do you have to have to invent an invisible man in the sky the second you have trouble answering a complex question. It's like someone saying "hey, i had a sausage in the fridge earlier, and now it's gone" and you replying with "well in that case it must have been Superman who took it... oh and by the way, he wants me to mutilate your penis and beat my wife".
What kind of brain damage does it take for one to find a sausage in the refrigerator, and then say "Wow! That's lucky! A sausage must have appeared here through billions of years of random uncontrolled selections, and the meat from whence this sausage came from must have been the product of 2 universes colliding or a molecule imploding! Boy, am I smart!"
The kind of "brain damage" that makes you look at the evidence and draw conclusions from it instead of saying "i don't understand that at all, so ill just believe a magic man in the sky done it".
I don't know where you get the idea that we "made up" a "magic man" who lives in the sky. My God is all-powerful being who is not constricted by physical laws, In fact, he made them. Everything comes from something. He is also omnipresent and does not live in the sky. He also loves you enough to give you a second chance, If you'll take it. My theory is that everyone has evolution backwards. Everything we see today points towards a time where the earth was once "perfect". Ever since then, the earth and everything on it has gone more and more askew, causing changes that we see in the world around us that are digressive, not progressive. So in other words, we were more complicated and are becoming simpler as time goes on, not from simple to complicated. That's logically impossible. If you leave anything alone without a caretaker, it goes towards the breaking point. It doesn't get better. I call it "digressive evolution". And it points towards a designer.
yeah, like i said, a magic man in the sky that you made up. Restating the thing that is made up isn't a case against it being made up. Well your theory, like your god, is something you have just pulled out of thin air. All the evidence points towards the fact that things started simple and became more complex over time due to natural selection. The fossil record alone shows beyond any doubt that things have become more complex over time. Disagree? find me a chicken fossil in Precambrian rock. Our life expectancy alone has steadily increased over time. So much for a "perfect world" where people only lived to 25 and invariably died from infected teeth, something which these days can be treated during your lunch break. So while it is no doubt convenient for you to just make shit up and hope everyone takes your word for it the evidence suggests the exact opposite of what you claim in your "theory".
According to the Bible, Which has not to date been proven historically incorrect, states that towards the beginning people lived well over 500 years. The only reason the life expectancy has been going up is because of medical advances, not evolution.
Well the bible is obviously complete bollocks then. Are you, at any point, going to attempt to think for yourself?
I don't see you disproving me, just calling my evidence "bollocks". I do think for myself. If you want to point me to something that will help me understand your views better, rather than getting angry and dismissing what I say, be my guest. I have read quite a few books on why God doesn't exist, and I have read parts of the Qur'an and many other "religious" books. I consider myself very open-minded. You should try it some time. I do not believe blindly.
Well present some evidence for your ludicrous claim that people once lived to 500 years old, besides the unsupported claim written in an old story book, and ill refute it. I have already presented evidence that life expectancy has increased over time, if you like i can explain it further for you if you are still having trouble grasping it. I see you are another one who equates open mindedness to believing any old shit, So long as the shit isn't supported by evidence and, in most cases, is contradicted by the evidence. Found a fossil of a chicken in Precambrian rock yet? didn't think so. Which is odd, isn't it? after all, things used to be more complex and are becoming more simple, aren't they? The Precambrian should be littered with complex organisms.
The renaissance inspired many people in Europe to think for themselves and boldly question all established principles and institutions. This led to the growth of scientific methods , i.e, learning by seeing, observation and experimentation.
