Best Way To Start Forum...i Think

From my own personal view I think the best way to start a forum and having visitors make threads and posts etc...is to FIRST make bout 30 to 50 accounts your self at start and make random posts and threads off the different accounts. Make sure conversations are visible in forums...and when ACTUAL visitors DO COME they can see conversations in progress...this will give them the tik that this is getting interesting and that they need to get invovled which means they would have to sign up (assuming you forums are for registered users only). Ths will increase your members count and also eventaly create ACTIVITY on your forums...

This is how I have tried it and has worked quite well for me...

start a forum and then tell your good friends to signup. if the forum is a good idea, it will work on its own, if its a generic idea that is unorigianl it will not work.

Thats not a news to me. People have been doing this for eons now.
Just that they dont have time to do all that themselves so they hire people to do that posting work.

That is one method. I agree that if a new user comes to the forum noticing now post or very little, they will quickly turn around and leave.

You can also script your forum to insert new posts using a RSS forum to fill up the forum. Once members join, slowly take away the RSS feed.

you take the RSS feed from another relevant forum. Its not the best solution, but its the fastest and quickest to fill up your forum to make it seem its live

One other way can be hiring quality posters, and have them get the job done.

I think you should make it a Paid-to-post forum, start with some low payouts:)

I've tried starting a forum before... No success.

Who has the time and energy to make 50 accounts and just post? I don't :)

    But it might work
