The Excact Definitoin of Unique Conent: I've seen a lot of bla bla about this matter in many web mastering boards including DP, you can hardly have a clue on that, you know.... a lot of puzzling terms like: (unique,duplicate,original,valuable..etc) so what's exactly unique content? Abviously, unique means, something being one of its kind, something like nothing else in its category, that's how dictionaries define it, but how the hell can we make a unique content without using other resources of knowledge? no one's mind is brilliant enough to not requires no external source of knowledge . Well, we don't wanna get lost in all this, lets just focus on how search engines, particularly google , regard this. "Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar" this is very clear, the word "appreciably" can be interpreted as "to a noticeable degree" obviously google doesn't want to give a percentage here ,this would break flexibility and help content scrapers and this make sens to me, cause most of the content out there in the internet is not unique in the proper sense of the word but it made unique to search engines else, how can we explain repetitive news on big websites using exactly the same sentences and delivering the same info ? *So if you bring some ideas and facts from elsewhere and try to develop them you in your own proper way that's unique, valuable but not original *If you spin some words around somebody else's article, giving the same idea in another way, that's unique but not valuable nor original of course. the latter, applies to Auto-generated content too "Content generated programatically. Often this will consist of random paragraphs of text that make no sense to the reader but that may contain search keywords" google said. got it now? semantically different works but innovative rocks. ~yoozy
apparently, search engines while trying to simulate humans are not humans. So, while the search engines can be deceived by auto-spinning articles and recycled news stories, ultimately its humans that will read these stuff. And when you go through 10 lines of text that sounds like someone has been writing under the influence, then you see that original, human written content remains KING
I believe that is not the same. You might find the content different but SE instead will find that the same. No one knows about their algorithm
Perhaps you should create another post on the definition of "original"... because my definition and your definition for both "original" and "unique" appear to be VERY different. The two are in fact synonyms for one another. All I need to do to make something original and/or unique is to write it from scratch using my own words. It's guaranteed to be unique AND original. I don't have to present some "idea" that has never been revealed or thought of by anyone on the face of this planet for a piece of content to be unique OR original... I don't have to write about some new scientific theory that no one has ever thought of or reveal some new galaxy that I just discovered for my content to be original or unique. It is perfectly fine for me to research a topic using other sources that already exist and then sit down at my computer and type what I have just learned in my own words. That content will be unique AND original because it is in my own words and from my perspective... adding my views on the topic or how I understand it to be. No one has ever suggested that for content to be unique OR original that it had to be created "without using other resources of knowledge" as you suggest. That might be YOUR interpretation of unique... but not mine... not Google's... and not the average person on the street. We are all human... all originate from a sperm and egg... all created from the same genes and elements that exist here on earth... but all unique individuals. We don't have to be some new life form that has never existed throughout the millenia in order for us to be unique... So goes it with content.
I agree.... its not that tough to make original content. The best part about seo is [lol] you can write exactly what the best website has in their content, just using different words & with the meaning being same end to end. il tell you, SEO is funny business.
if the content is unique then it will be liked by google and will be indexed soon and PR will also increase...
if it comes out of your own ideas then I deem that as unique content. some might have been doing it longer or even better, but if it's of your own making then that's good enough...
If it's never been written before, in the exact words you write, then it's original (and unique, as Canonical pointed out). Every thought, emotion, action, etc. we have as human beings is influenced by an existing thought, emotion, or action. Everything is borne of something...you are over-thinking this issue. Unique, original content can make exactly the same point as the content that inspired it, but is written with visually and audibly-different words. Spaghetti sauce is still spaghetti sauce, no matter the content of its recipe. Everything is a translation of something that came before it.
I agree with you, in dictionaries unique and original are almost the same , just a slight nuance but in internet marketing jargon especially search engine the two terms are very different see this example to understand what I'm talking about ~yoozy
Unique content means coming up with fresh new ideas such as articles that no one else has written about yet. This will benefit both the search engines and your visitors especially when the quality of content is up to date and interesting to read.
