I recently read that a "link from a page with PR4 and 5 outbound links is worth more than a link from a page with PR8 and 100 outbound links." Does it help and/or hurt to have more links to your own site within your own site? Is it good to factor this in when building a site and considering getting links from other sites? What's better than the above for SEO? Is the best idea to get some good SEO software and kick back? Is anything [excluding software] more important than content when building a website [including links?]? Thanks.
aside from SEO process and content to your site for increasing your traffics and high pr on your site. why not try exchanging links and backlinks for it is also a great factor to get high pr on your site. have some SEO tips and to increase your pr in this link for further information: wwwoutsourceit2philippinescom Good Luck
Question 1: Worth more from what perspective? increasing your rankings? increasing your PR? They are separate and very distinct things. Regardless, whomever stated this likely has no clue. There is no way that they know this for sure. Google toolbar PR is said to be based on a logrithmic scaling of a page's "real" PR which is some potentially HUGE number... similar to how earth quakes are measured on the Richter scale... It's very exponential. To get to the next level is exponentially harder. No one knows whether Google's scaling from a page's "real" PR to it's toolbar PR is base 5, base 10, base 25, base 100, etc. But if it is a base 10 logrithm then it would be scaled similar to the following: Real PR -----------------------------> Toolbar PR 0..9 ---------------------------------> 0 10-99 -------------------------------> 1 100-999 -----------------------------> 2 1,000-9,999 --------------------------> 3 10,000-99,999 ------------------------> 4 100,000-999,999 ----------------------> 5 1,000,000-9,999,999 ------------------> 6 10,000,000-99,999,999 ----------------> 7 100,000,000-999,999,999 --------------> 8 1,000,000,000-9,999,999,999 ----------> 9 10,000,000,000-99,999,999,999+ ------> 10 Assuming the most conservative of estimates (using a base 10 logrithm and the highest possible PR5 page w/ 5 outbound links compared to lowest possible PR8 page w/ 100 outbound links)... And this is likely VERY conservative... I think the logrithm likely has a much higher base than 10 ... So yea... If I am looking to increase PR then I'll take the link from a PR8 site with 100 outbound links over a PR5 site with 5 outbound links anyday... In the case of a base 10 scaling, as you can see it passes 50x the page rank than does the BEST PR5 page. However, I would take the PR5 link over the PR8 link anyday if it is rankings I want to improve and the PR5 page is relevant plus has relevant link text and the PR8 link is not relevant and does not have relevant link text. Question 2: The way you interlink pages on your site (which pages link to one another and what link text they use) can have a substantial impact on your rankings. It doesn't carry as much weight as similar links from external sites, but with SEO it's never one thing that makes a page rank... It's always the sum of lots of little things that taken as a whole makes a page rank well. Look at wikipedia.com sometime. They show up in the SERPs on page 1 probably more than any other site on the web for all types of random head terms and long tail phrases... And not EVERY page on their site that ranks has inbound links from external sites. Should tell you something. Question 3: Inbound links from relevant pages on external sites (and internal pages to a lesser degree) with the targeted keyword phrase(s) for the page being linked to as the link text is probably the most important ranking factor... especially at Google. Question 4: If it were that easy, everyone would be tied for 1st place. Question 5: As I said links are the most important thing in getting your URLs to rank. But content is equally as important for attracting natural links and keeping the user on your site once they get there.
Hi how much does your service cost? I want "Dubrovnik" to be on the first page for the keyword dubrovnik. My page now is on 2 page google.com for this keyword Regards
If you are that close to page one, getting the rest of the way there SHOULD involve building links... So read here about article submission, dofollow blog commenting, directory submission, guest blog posting, etc. and build links from other sites pointing back to the URL on your site that is already ranking on page. Use these techniques to farm links on other sites pointing back to your URL with the link text "Dubrovnik". In otherwords, you want to create links on other sites pointing to your URL like:
Yes, that is correct, I had tested it for one of my site. It worked for me. I don't think this will be more useful in terms on SEO. As far as I know, it is better to stick with getting links manually, That will bring you more value than automated.
How exactly did you "test" it? Did you start with two brand new sites each with the same number of pages, same interlinking structure, and ZERO inbound links... and then get a link on a PR5 page that only had 5 outbound links pointing back to Site A... and then get a link on a PR8 page that had 100 outbound links pointing back to Site B... and make sure that both Site A and Site B gained NO other outbound links until the next Google PR Update was published and then view the Google Toolbar PR for both Site A and Site B?
Sounds like impossible to do this test. I don't know even though we able to do this test, the results will be seen as what described. Because, we don't have the control of stopping any incoming links pointing our page or website, right?
I wouldn't go with any SEO Software as it probably won't have the results of just doing manual SEO. As for getting backlinks its true that you want to gain a link from a page that has a low number of outboud links. You want to make sure that the link you're getting is also related to your industry.
I wonder, what should google say if i make several domains and redirect them to my MAIN page... (301 redirect) will my site be penalyzed for same content or?
If they're redirected, they don't have any content. . . That's what I think'll get said. I have no idea.
