5000 Dollars are Enough For Promotion?

Hello,

I have a very nice free flash games site. 8000+ games and adding daily new content. I can't disclose the name here but it's good.

Anyways, I have planned to spend $5000 using google adwords to promote this website. What you guys think.....Is it enough?

500k visitors to a gaming site are enough or need more to make it successful? I just want then 10,000 users regular on my site so is it possible then by investing 5k dollars?

My testing experience:

I paid google to deliver 40,000 unique visitors. After stopping the campaign I get usually 400-500 uniques everyday. So are you satisfied with this result or not? If i look the average....by delivering 500k uniques on site will stable 5000 uniques daily or maybe more. So is it good for earning long term?

 

Try a low risk approach to make your budget last, such as goolgle content network - you only pay when someone clicks...

 

5000 mmmm if i had that kind of money my website would be 1 on google

 

My recommendation is to spendi t wisely and slowly. Most people (including myself) have never had a marketing budget like that on any website. The first month, keep things small, maybe a few hundred and use that in different areas to test out what is going to work for you. You will feel much better knowing you are getting a return on your money later on before spending that amount of money.

 

Are you already doing other types of marketing? Like SEO? With SEO you save time and money.

Do people have to register when they want to play games? If so you can send email messages to start a relationship with your customers. The email messages can get a larger part of the visitors back to your site.

 

And to elaborate on that point, it might be a good idea to have some sort of "Share this game" feature - social bookmarking, social networking, email, etc.

As someone else has already stated, start off small. Experiment with your kw and see what attracts people to your site. If you're getting a high bounce rate, then it's time to change something about your arcade, and start again with the advertising.

 

I have a games site too, but 5k spending in an arcade site that doesn't seem good to me.
why?
cause your site has 8k games that doesn't matter, how many games you develop or sponsor that is the fact. you can find some script comes with 4k games and some peoples selling 15k games with site only for $15

soul of god has a good point, if you have quality games and good content then members you recruit.source will stay otherwise your churn rate will be high and you would have wasted your budget.

Get your site quality up, add some sticky factors. I hope you are also adding your users to a list!

No need to blow you budget on adwords, as suggested use google content network, article marketing, cross promotions and look at Viral marketing options.

Remember ROI - Return on Investment. So if you spend 5000 then you should make back more than 5000 otherwise you are wasting your time and money.

You might want to consider asking for feedback. There is a review section in DP where you can get advice on how your website looks and it's free. You don't want to blow $5000 on a site people aren't going to want to come back to.

 

You have to pay attention to your traffic too, google adword just a way you put your banner on a building, you have to pay attention to who's gonna see it and where the traffic come from, if it come from spain the most, then I would suggest you put spanish language on your site too.

 

Yes, it is enough, game site is the low pay niche, the cost is not so high.
You can take out $1000 for affiliate program

 

Buy 500 blog comments for 1/10th of that price and be #1 in SERPs.

 

We just spent 100 dollar on google adwords, in the following month, i get more visitor daily, but low conversion, not i use free way such as SEO. Come to the point, i think $5000 much enough for your promotion!

 

Spend 2500 on organic SEO (all whitehat) and 2500 on PPC....use Overture (yahoo search marketing network) with 1500 and the other 1000 with Adwords. Best 5k you will ever spend. PS: I don't specialize in PPC, so you might want to find a company that specializes in that if you really want to put your money to good use.

 

Too much to know. Thanks to everyone for the great comments. I think dividing money would be the best idea. Like putting few in seo, paid promotion and other methods. Do you guys know any good seo company? Btw how much are the enough backlinks for a new site? I already have 179 links in google for this site

I am getting only under 100 google search engine traffic. Not sure how to do more stuff of seo.

 

$5000 on adwords?? Sounds like you are taking the "throw enough s*** at a wall and some will stick" approach. You can get traffic for zilch if you work at it, and spend the cash on a holiday. You need to build written content and build one way backlinks to your site, which I could help you with for the princely sum of $3.50!

Also, how are you going to get that 5K back???

 

Obviously via ads on site. I don't think making money back in few days is easy. I am thinking of long term project. BTW do you guys know how to rank in a specific country search results? Do I need to buy links on that country sites?
