I have a plan to make a blogger blog (blogspot) and this is will be my 1st journey of blogging and i hope i can make some decent earnings from it. And to protect the .com version of my blogger blog, i'll buy the .com domain version of it, to anticipate if my blog is become "big" and move it to the .com domain oneday. Let say my blogger blog is myblog.blogspot.com and the .com version is myblog.com, so which is better to forward ? myblog.blogspot.com to myblog.com OR myblog.com to myblog.blogspot.com ? you can explain the consequences by doing it based on your experience or other people experience.
It depends on your registrar. Blogspot gives directions to do though creating cnames etc, If in others can like GoDaddy just go to forwarding and forward to xxx.blogspot.com domain and mask with whatever title you wish (Very Simple) They blogspot gives you the option if you wish to buy your domain through them they will setup automatically for you ! I guess that would depend how much experience you have - wish to learn to do it ? Prefer to have done for you at a couple bucks more or you know how already---Cheers
It's not about technical problem guys, but it's more like which one is better to anticipate if some how my blog become "big" then i'll host it in my own domain ( .com ) ?
When you choose to publish on custom domain with Blogger, they activate automatically a forward from the old address (let's say yourblog.blogspot.com) to your domain. Please note that Blogger doesn't allow to publish on the domain name itself, it requires a hostname. To better understand, can't publish on yourdomain.com, but is ok on hostname.yourdomain.com (eg. blog, www) cheers
www.postsecret.com is one of fav blog that forwarded the .com domain to the blogspot.com, should i go for that or contrary from it ? (forwarded the blogspot.com to the .com domain) which one is better way ? in term of SEO, PR etc perhaps
although there's little or no difference from SEO point of view, running your own domain would increase brand recognition by the end user. sorry but i have access to italian version of blogger control panel, but translating it you should go to settings / publishing and here setup your domain name. just be sure to state that you already own a domain. run domain natively and not via redirect like today, this may affect you pr ranking if you don't use a 301 permanent redirection. ciao
Well Grazie for the advice alamperti , i'm blogging about light topic anyway so that's why i decide to blogging with blogger as my 1st journey of blogging. BTW are you Milanista ?
