How long for google to list my site?

Discussion in 'Site & Server Administration' started by zipdisk, Aug 2, 2006.

I have submitted my site to google and also did sitemap and sent it to google. I saw that googlebot has visited my site. However, when I typed in my site name www.mydomain.com. I still cannot see my site in the google search page. I just wonder if there is any problem with my domain history. I means if it was banned before by google. But in fact, my site is running adsense well. Everything seems OK. Is that I worry about too much?

Get some good links and you'll be added in a few days.

    *Add it to your sig.

That is an awesome domain! J/k.

I bought a domain from someone that I just started using too. It is listed in Yahoo and actually gets more traffic from them then I expected, but I haven't been able to get it in to google. I'm just giving it some time. I read somewhere yesterday that google won't penalize a domain after it has been expired, but mine never expired, so I'm still a little worried.

P.S.- I'm running adsense on it as well.

Is that really his site? I was assuming he was using a generic domain.

I agree, signature links can work wonders for getting a site indexed. Getting ranked however, can take much longer.

Jdog, I don't know about "google not penalizing domains that have expired" as I just had to send a reinclusion request to get a domain list , and it had been expired for 5 months?

Oh, that's not good. I'll try and find where I saw that. I thought someone was quoting matt cutts, but who knows. I just submitted a sitemap today, so I'm going to give it a few days before I really start to worry.

    ROFL!

msmp3... Give it a bit of time. Forums don't always get crawled very deeply, very quickly.

Besides, Googlebot has priorities other than deep crawling forums... like deep crawling my sites! :D Get to work Googlebot! :p

I got a PR3 only like after 1.5 years online. Also whats a "google sitemap"?
P.S. why this forum time-out so quickly? Have to re-login every 5 minutes
