My Stupid Adsense Experiment Which Doubled my Earnings!

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by B'd, Jul 21, 2009.

After many failed attempts to increase my adsense earning i decided for a final and desperate try.I knew that this experiment had a greater possibility to reduce my decent earning, but i decided to give it a shot.Believe me,IT WORKED!

The experiment which i thought to be the most stupidest ever,Worked!

After 1 month of monitoring the adsense revenues,i have nearly doubled my adsense earning when compared to previous months with the same amount of traffic.

The Only Change I made :

Used Targeting with Google Ad Manager.

I picked up a channel ,where i received the maximum number of clicks and made most of the revenue. It was an Ad unit showing both text ad and Image ad.

In this Ad space,I used Google Ad Manager to target U.S and U.K traffic and showed them only text ad.For rest of the world i showed image ads.

For the first few days,I had a bit dip in revenue and after that it boosted up like anything.[might be i was smart priced].I'm currently monitoring this successful experiment for a month now and the revenue has increased considerably.[don't ask me any technical reasons as I too don't know much about Google's crazy click pricing]

My site[don't ask me niche] had 60% visitors from U.S/U.K and 85% SE traffic.

I'm familiar with using this as an ad buyer, but I'm still not sure how to do it in Adsense. Are all Adsense users in their database for ad buyers to find?

You don't need to find any ad buyers.....Ad manager already has a n option to show adsense ads else make your own inventory and put your code...that's it

It took me several months to understand how to use Ad Manager. Whats great about Ad Manager is that you can change your Ads Display (box size and color) anytime you like but I never tried using its Targeting Feature, it looks more like for those who have third party advertiser in their site.. Maybe I should try this Ad Manager again..

yeah,it's quite tough to get used to google ad manager...i will try to write a small tutorial on that.

I have tried showing text ads to all people but no significant success.

I have not used Openx but i think it's the same concept.

If everyone shares their placement success stories, then this place would have been a heaven for publishers...but i don't think all gurus will share their success stories:(
