Can ponting break sachins record in test?

    Hi,
    Sachin tendulkar holds the record for the most number of centuries in both oneday and test cricket. I don't think anybody can break that in oneday.
    But I reckon ponting has the capability to do so in tests. And I hope that he will not since I am a great fan of Sachin.
    What do you think?

    Well.. I don't think Ponting can ever break Sachin's record !

    Also, Sachin is still playing.. So, ponting got no chance at all. :rolleyes:

    Its a tough call.
    But i think that there is a possibilty, Ponting can break his record.
    But i would love to Sachin have the record.

    i don't think that Ponting has so many cricket left in his career that he could break the record of Sachin.

    Ponting is 34 ,but sachin is 36 years of age.

    Well i think sachin's record will remain for sometime. I hope he finishes with more than 50 test centuries by the time he finishes, so that nobody can beat it..... He is the best..:cool::)

    Ponting is also a great player and a captain too, but he is not in good phase of his career presently.
    almost everyday someone or the other from media or from cricket world criticizes him about his role.
    i dont think so that he will break sachin's record.

    His One Day record is unbeatable. Ponting is the only one among current player who can surpass him. It all depends on when they retire. As long as tendulkar is playing I dont think Ponting can beat him.

    i dont think that ponting can break rcords of sachin of making more number of centuries.Sachin is still there in indian team.breaking record is possible if sachin stop playing cricket.
