Hi, I would like to know what are your criteria or the characteristics that you people look for to see if the website is Trustable. I know that content is important, but, how about the kind of ads or are there any other stuff? (Please tell me if this question should be asked in Website Design category) Thanks
When it comes to building visitor trust, things such as accreditation logos, customer testimonials, a professional looking design, a local telephone contact number, no banner ads unless you are a forum, blog, etc.
Yeah aside from the contents one thing that would really bring people into your site are the testimonials which proves that the site is really reputable...
You may want to add: security certificate logos testimonials privacy policy anti-spam policy near your opt-in form[if your asking for their emails] company logos in which you are affiliated with contact us page with your email and phone if possible
Third party security certificate logos would be the most powerful strenght when it comes to building confidence and trust.
legitimate contact info including adress and telephone # is very important, privacy policy and a clean design without 50 flashing ads, just look at websites of big companies and see how they look.
