I'd like to start up an autoblog.. But I'm not quite sure on how to even start with this. Can anyone give me some pointers?
Take a look at wp-o-matic. Beware --some people complain of problems and to be honest I'm a little concerned myself about the author not updating the plugin recently... But I'm using it in a couple of sites and it works well. It automatically posts based on RSS. Hope that's enough to get your started... you can get creative and use that in a million ways to auto-blog. gl.
There are plugins to create a wordpress autoposted blogs, check out the wordpress plugins directory to find them or you can also buy a premium plugin where you will get full support if you are unsure how to use them.
It's pretty easy actually, the main problem is getting traffic to that blog and monetizing it. Without proper SEO it doesn't matter what blog you have, it won't go far.
You can use feedage to convert RSS feeds into e-mail series! With the newer versions of wordpress, you can post e-mails to your blog! I don´t tried this on my own, so it might not work but I can´t see any reasons why it should be so!
I think a more direct way of using feedage in the context of autoblogging would be to use its html to rss conversion tool so that you can autoblog any content regardless of availability of rss feed. Then use a plugin like wp-o-matic. Autoblogs rarely work well enough to rank high though, so be warned!
Thanks for all the information guys. Does anyone have any other information or programs they know about other than wp-o-matic?
There's also this - http:// adambrown.info/b/widgets/category/kb-advanced-rss/ But as you can see from its latest post, he is no longer maintaining the plugin. It seems very cool and it would be good if someone picked it up but it might take a while for this to happen.
Oh yeah... one more. This one is a little bit specialized but you might be able to tweak it to do what you want. Its called lifestream and it parses RSS feeds and posts in a number of different ways. The only thing is that this is geared towards social networks, not just any RSS but I'm sure it could be adapted somewhat easily by a php guru. You can see it at notagrouch.com/about/oscar or as a widget in the front page, it parses from twitter, su, pandora, and over a dozen other network apps.
