Banned But I'm not complaining

Just wanted to tell you all I was banned from google adsense, but I'm not really mad.

I only made abour $44 and I started last month, and yes I complied with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policies etc. I read them practically everyday.

I'm sending them an appeal but in the meantime I'm going to try something else.

Kinda disappointing though. Because my forum has been getting alot of traffic lately and I guess some dumb guest started clicking like crazy. I don't know, but I have the proof that it wasn't my fault so they must let me back in.

    To Yahoo! :)

have fun exploring the world of contextual ads, sounds spammy but in my sign contextboom has lots of alternatives u can use instead of google.

That's the spirit Constance. Keep it up. If you have the proof that it wasn't your fault then they let you back for sure.

    Thanks guys.

I was half way there in getting my website on another host. bleh..

But there are always other alternatives you know? So I figured don't be stuck on one thing, and even if they won't let me back in, I did learn alot from the experience so that will help me with other services.

Always a learning experience to me :D

maybe you will get through with your appeal, but you can try and sign up with other advertising services.

I thought it was clicking on your own ads that you had to worry about? And also clicking excessively on your competitor's ads.

But you shouldn't feel too afraid to ever click on an ad on someone else's site, if it's something you are genuinely interested in. That would defeat the whole point of the advertising.

Constance, I had been banned before and reinstated. The culprit was a forum that had a traffic surge on that day. It went from a normal of 200 to over 2000 on that day. I still cannot explain what happened on that day.

I would look at your traffic figures carefully. Be very polite in your appeal and over to cooperate in any way you can.

Finally, make sure that there are no threads/posts in your forum that may be construed as a call for your members to click on your ads

@zxpro - I read a thread about this recently and I think it was you.

I look at my traffic carefully, and it wasn't a surge like that. It was more of 3-9 new guests. And one of them probably a young person, started clicking like an idiot.

I do hope Google Adsense reinstates me because I do like their services.

@1Eight - They didn't say. It was a general email like most people get. I wish they'd tell you specifically.

Googlebots practically live at my forum, and I keep a close eye on my content...but I can't track who clicks my ads and that's a flaw I think Google Adsense should fix to ensure invalid clicks are indeed invalid clicks and not some idiot who clicks for the fun of it.

@chacha - Yes I'm signing up for YPN and Chitika in the meantime. If all goes well I will use those two services on my forum and Google Adsense on my site if I'm reinstated.

@Black Hand and everyone else - Thanks guys. My spirits were really low when I found this out.
