Today's situation is not such that only men should buy a house for the entire family. for a couple, both should equally contribute (if financial situation allows) since it is a costly affair Women r earning too,this should be kept in mind.
Absolutely agree with that. Men and Women have the same responsibility but its the men have the highest responsibility.
hmmm... You are a Asian / Indian ?? ... Cannot call it as a responsibility as it will be like a burden on men.. But, why not try buying one. After all, its good for you and your family.
It is better that a man can buy a house by himself. But if he can't, I think the woman should help him.
Yeah right, & that's the reason why you are called "COUPLE" . Responsibilities must be taken by both parties & not just an individual
Buying a house specially if you are a couple is not really a man's duty. It will become your conjugal property after all.
... or the one who knows what they're doing. My ex and I spent months looking at houses. It was a nightmare. He knew nothing about the housing market. He knew nothing about negotiating. He knew nothing about the technical / mechanical side regarding factoring in maintenance issues. And he was a complete sucker for any real estate agent that gave him a "good feeling." Ironically, he still thought it was up to him and him alone to buy the house, and that I should have no say. (Same guy who once told me when we moved in together I should start giving him all of my income so he could decide how the money is spent and put me on an allowance of some sort. - Didn't know me as well as he thought he did. lol) Got the hell out of that relationship, and none too soon.
