Submitting every post to social bookmarking sites

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by colossus, Jul 20, 2009.

I was just wondering if it was wise to submit every post to a social bookmarking site. Will it affect your website negatively in any way? such as a drop in PR?

Also, should the timing between each social bookmark submission be spread out or does that not matter as well?

    Thanks

No, Don't submit your every post to social bookmarking site. When you blog, write some killer posts and promote them on social bookmarking site. Don't submit your regular posts. You may get banned to these sites if you are found that you are submitting every post of yours. You can ask your friends or people in social network to submit your post.

Yes!!! Submitting all the posts of your blog will cause negative effect on your site. Instead of submitting all the posts in a single social marking sites, try to submit every single post in any one of the SB sites. :)

Submitting almost every post can be helpful for both - traffic and backlinks. But stephen082 is right when he says that if you submit ONLY the posts from your blog you will be banned. So, let your site/blog links will be not more that 10% of all your submittings.

I would just give the users the chance to submit them and you can just submit the ones that will bring the most traffic.

    Thanks for your replies!

Just to clarify kittluver's post, so submitting the same link to the many dofollow social bookmarking sites is fine right? Sorry, I am still learning my trade with SEO ;)

Chances are you will be banned from the social bookmarking site. One guy I saw here recently complained that he was banned from digg for submitting 20 of his articles in one day. Another guy said he was banned - and he had submitted 300 of his own articles.

Those social bookmarking sites are not there for your own personal gain. Their not your own little promotion tool, so dont do it.

Submitting your every blog post to social bookmarking sites won't affect you in negative way. It only affect when, when you do it only for your websites. Here is an example. Like if i am using digg social bookmarking site and i always my blog or article to digg and digg up so digg will bann my account because i am using it for only me. If you can maintain the balance like submit your own and digg up to other's post so it won't affect you.

Yes, if you will submit every post related to one site, there is possibility that your account will be beaned. but try to post main services of your site with few other interesting links of general topics and submit your vote to other people post on different topics.
you will get benefit of it and back links too from good do follow social bookmarking sites.
