People thought in the 1950's that robots would run the world by the year 2000. It will never happen. I do think we are increasingly reliant on technology but robots will never run everything :). I did like that movie though. Will Smith is just cool

So people have mixed feelings, are you sure we don't WANT robots to run the earth so we are telling are self's that it cannot happen.

Think about 200 years ago, Mobile Phones, WiFi, Electronic Cars not just Petrol, As well as the advanced robots there are today, EVEN DP :eek: would of seen like amazing things to think of and would never exsit we are evloving and getting new technology all the time.

Even cars can go under water now although not for a long distance. (And with no roof LOL)

There are more possibilities for that. Actually many countries are doing research on that secretly but we are not aware of that

Have you ever seen something created by us that could be smarter than the humans? No, so there 'll be many new inventions , new applications based on using robots, but never such robots to take over. Still who knows .. :) if you can implement an algorithm for ambition, maybe we'll get something like in the movie :)
    Regards,
    Cosmin

I don`t think we can know for sure what will be or not 50-100 years from now. Or even more. So I think we can`t just say that it will never happen.

Well if robots eventually replace us, I am pretty sure they can generate their own power without the need for human intervention ;)

if we speak about real robots they have to obey 3 rules:

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
