What difference is there between different domain extensions

    What is the difference between domains having different extensions?? Does it have any impact having a .info or .com or .net extensions??

    It is not a big difference, only an extensions like .com is more popular than others, because it is widely used.

    Other like:
    - .net is usually used for network.
    - .org is specialized for organizations-non profit organizations.
    - and other extensions which show country "domain", examples:
    .co.uk --> United Kingdom
    .co.au --> Australia
    - .ac.uk --> usually for educational institutions (university, college) in UK
    - .gov --> government

    well i knw what these extensions mean.. but say suppose if i have a blog on a .info, will advertisers prefer to display there ads as compared to another site of the same rank having a .com extension??

    I would suggest .com is best one..advertiser will prefer to display ads but during google page indexing and ranking..it may not get its position.
