Moving from Blogger to Own Domain

So I started a website and I am seeing a little bit of traffic from it, and was considering moving toward a domain for it rather than this blogger domain. My question is, since I have built some backlinks to blogger... what should I do when I move to the domain name in order to prevent losing these backlinks? Does blogger automatically redirect or is there some way I can make it? Advice appreciated.

Also, I know having my own domain will be easier for people to remember, but do you think it will help me out at all in the search engines or in other ways?

BTW, I know blogger isn't the best platform, yet its free and I am trying to do this as a hobby on no money. I'm upgrading to a .info domain b/c its cheap (~$1) and blogger supports it.

You're going to lose all those backlinks.
If you already have a domain and are moving from one to another you can do a permanent redirect, but you can't do that if you're hosted on someone else's platform - which is why it's probably best to just bite that bullet and do it sooner rather than later - one of the advantages of having your own domain is that there are so many server side things - and design things, and the ability to add scripts and widgets and all kinds of things that you've never thought of, that you'll want to do at some point in the future - so do it as soon as possible and accept that as far as backlinks go, you're starting from scratch.
