I see tons of these programs saying you can get tons of backlinks and traffic to your site, but is it really worthy to go through all the effort for a bunch of no-name sites linking to you? I saw this program where they say one submitted article will be posted on 30 blogs...so 30 backlinks, but the 30 blogs had alexa rankings between 300k to 2million, so what's the point of it?
Not much, but don't go by alexa. It isn't 100% accurate. But, if the links are on quality sites, then they are worth it. Bottom line, your site needs to have incoming links to rank well.
Don't confuse responsible backlinking with spam link building. Two VERY VERY different things. If you want a resource regarding how to build links ETHICALLY and responsibly, here's an article http://www.highrevenue.com/linkbuil...g-backlinks-through-responsible-blog-comments
mmm true about Alexa. I just use it as a guide. Ok, so I will try to get my site backlinked on popular sites (with related content of course).
Backlinking is very important for your site ranking in the Search engines. But there are lot of scams that offer you getting thousands of backlinks and traffic with it. You have to be carefully getting in these scams. Nevertheless genuine backlinking is crucial for you site ranking and PR.
PR is not everything...quite an irrelevant factor now if you ask me as highlighted here as well http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1420429 My site has a PR of 0 after just 2 weeks in business and Im already making to top 3 of quite a look of generic google searches. there are a lot of other factors that help your site ranking but backlinking is still great once you get them from sources with better site traffic relevant to your site. works good with adsense if your incoming traffic is related closely.
Yes traffic and pr as well as position in SERP depends on backlinks. But you should build it in a natural way not by spamming. Google will catch spam and also spam backlinks are of very little value.
I beg to disagree about alexa rating. It's quite acurate and helps to track performace of your site over time. The only problem with alexa is that the stats are compiled using their toolbar and thus SEO people and webmasters are the only people who have it. Thus if you have a financial website with alexa rating of 3m, I bet you get more traffic that a directory with alexa rating of 500k. The only problem with alexa is that only webmasters have it... why would you have it otherwise?
Yes, back links are important!.. But you have to get back links on relevant sites.. Quality gives more weight compared to those back links that your getting on irrelevant sites... Quality is better than quantity.. When talking about quality it deals with relevancy..
It's not that hard to do... just make it part of your daily online routine: Example: When looking at news aggregator sites and you see a blog, leave a comment When referred by a friend to a new social network site, make a profile When sending emails, tell your friends about your blog posts There's so many ways to make links "piggyback" off what you are already doing online.
The backlinks are only worth if they matches your site content. if you know google search engine policy they will give a credit to a search result more if it have more backlinks pointing to them with content related to the keyword searched. So, if you are running a website of cameras and you make 1000 backlinks on gaming sites that will be rated lower than 10 links on camera websites.
do forumposting with your signature links pointing to your site .. you will get the back links for free !!!
In my opinion, backlinks are the single MOST important factor in seo, in *both* quantity and quality. The more competitive the niche, the more that this holds true. However, directing your attention on getting quality backlinks is where your efforts would be better spent at this time. The trick is, as cliche as it might sound, is to get a large quantity of quality backlinks.
Ok. Does link exchange qualify as backlinking though? Like if I had a section in the menu called "Friends or Recommended Sites" or something and have other guys with bigger sites link to me in a link exchange... or does it have to be within posts to be qualified as a proper backlink?
That's still a backlink. Having said that, though, a 2way link exchange will not reap the same rewards as a one-way IBL. There's no disputing that. My question to you: if all these people claim to have unlocked the secret to bringing in traffic, why don't they read a book on converting to sales and make themselves real money? Instead of, ya know, selling their miracle method for 5 bucks a pop. Hmmm
