Woah!! Comment on your own blog? That would be a bad idea and waste of time. You spend about 2-3 minutes doing a comment on your blog... How about reading articles that would improve your website..

I think some people are doing it. But not me.

I suppose if you want to make your blog look busy you could, but it seems a bit waste of time, and I can't see any SEO benefit at all - surely your time would be better spent commenting - intelligently - on blogs in the same niche and getting a link back to yours. Even if that blog nofollows their comments you might get some interested visitors from it.

I do it all the time. At the very least to follow up on comments that have been left by others.

Follow up on comments is a definite must if you want to create a user community.

    That is sacred!

Pretending to be a user and writing "fake comments" is BS.

I concur... Commenting on your own post pretending to be someone else would be like posting a question here and then posting a separate answer under a different username... Funny thought. Why would one think this is good for SEO?

fake comments = no go (for me)

BUT I will answer people's comments/questions all the time. It's just good relationship building to do that.

Waste of time in terms of SEO, there will be 0 benefit. Waste of time in terms of content creation as well, if you have that much spare time write some posts to save for a rainy day.

I answer comments on my blog. It is a lesson I learned from Neil Patel blog. It helps to build your blog fan club.

In my opinion you're far better off spending your time commenting on other people's blogs with a link back to your own.

If you're creating good quality content and have done proper keyword research, getting real comments is only a matter of time.

How can you comment you on your own blog post ? Its better to get some genuine comments on your blog from your visitors.

Replying to a comment on your blog is in fact a very good practice and needs to be followed...all the time! :)
But posting a comment... posing as a visitor yourself on your own blog, looks to be the thinking of some freaky mind!

What if someone asks you a question in one of those comments? Wouldn't you answer it? If you don't do so via a comment, how would you?

No, I don't do blog commenting on my own pages / blogs. Thats just waste of time.

Instead I write Quality Articles which gain automatic links from Other Websites...
