How well/effective do you work at home? Does family/friends bug you ?

Working from home is great in so many ways. My biggest issue is everyone thinks I am "on call" because I am not "at work"

No one thinks anything about calling me, IMing me etc. OK so I shut those things off. I do hate to shut off the phone though, in case someone I know really does have an emergency.

Then hubby walks in the office and says "are you busy". Well hell no I am just sitting here playing games ----- grrrrrrrr!

By the time I say "yes I am working" I so mad and now I have been distracted and I lose a few minutes trying to get back to WORK.

I have no children at home any more - but the hubby is a huge pain with always bothering me.

When he knows I am really PO about this - he will talk to the DOG really loud out in the other room just to PO me off some more - oh yeah now there's a smart idea ! NOT !

Does anyone else have troubles working from home? Ideas that I can use?

I can't lock him out of the office as it's the smoking room too and he smokes in here

Working from home is really challenging...
You need to be self disciplined and determined to complete your tasks within the deadline (if you are your own boss).
Last week I had my Aunt visiting my home. Her 2 sons really made me to go crazy.
They wanted to play games when I had some important work to complete.

Not as well as I wish I did.

My partner and I both work from home, but I focus on the blog posting side of it, and I do it at different times of the day, if I wait till night, then it's not good as it's TV time for us. So I need to really try and start working during the day and just let my partner get on with whatever.

I don't get any problems from my household members, but on my home computer all i can think about is DP, WHT and watching movies :D

I always order myself that i will WORK, and sometimes i do, but thats not always...

PS: I'm glad i'm working now at home :D

I am a driving instructor so I generally work in my car but I do my books etc at home and I am always distracted by one thing or another.

My wife is great but I have a 3 year old son and he always wants to see what Daddy is doing, so my wife tells him very loudly that Daddy is working and can't be disturbed, but what she really wants is for me to come out of my office and invite him in - sneaky or what!

If I could, I would rent an office, but I can't afford it!

I hardly work from home..so I am the last person to have any valid opinion on the same!

But I do feel.....working from home has its own advantages and disadvantages. Constant bugging/nagging from the better half is just one of the disadvantages...I guess. ;)

I'm not disturbed at all at home. I'm not a full time worker and maybe that's the reason

I really love working at home. I can do stuff without having a supervisor looking over my shoulders all the time.

My mother always yells at me "Sitting 24*7 in front of the computer"
    Phew!

They prefer a day time job with 250$ better than a online job with $500.

    Yeah! :(
