Since my host (nanihost.com) only interesting with my money and won't give any help, I have to ask your help on this. About one month ago, the host server has harddisk file error and resolve it by system file recovery.

Then the problem start. The htaccess are viewable and downloadable thru browser. The rules also not working anymore. Example, Using (order deny, allow
deny from all) to protect folder or subfolder wont work anymore. Everyone still can access it. What cause this and what need to be edited ? php.ini ? httpd.conf ? I'm using vps with apache server.

Are you sure you have AllowOverride set in httpd.conf?
