Just created a nice site but Search Engines hate it! PPC Campaign refused(?)

    Hi everyone,
Quite frankly, I am very upset today (but I am not giving up!)
I recently created a very nice-looking site but I just learned that it will most likely need a complete revamp... SEARCH ENGINES absolutely hate it! I tried doing a PPC campaign and Google gave it a rank of 1/10 and I'm assuming that's why I am getting zero impressions even through the campaign is turned on. Also, it hasn't been indexed by the search engines even though I did article submissions and some link building. Please help me figure out how to proceed? Do I need to hire a specialist to fix this?
P.S. Pls no offers via PM. I am just asking for advice from experts on the subject.
    Thanks!

It is not possible to say anything before analyzing your site. There may be many reasons for this. Can you share your URL so that DP members can suggest something?

Like stephen said, impossible to offer more than vague speculations without seeing the site - is it in flash? flash sites look good to visitors but are still mostly invisible to bots. Is there something wrong with your robots txt that means it's not getting indexed?

There are many factors that affect the pagrank like age of your website and if your site is seo friendly. If your site hasnt been indexed yet then your first priority should be to make your site indexed in google by submitting your site to google and creating sitemap.

    Hi,
No, there's no flash and I thought the site is actually pretty good. Would it be ok w/forum rules if I post the site here?

you can post your site here..I don't think its against forum rules as you are posting it on request on forum members. We can give suggestion only after looking into site.

It's actually in my signature now!
Thank you in advance for your input. Concerning the PPC campaign, according to a certified Google expert, it's due to "lack of unique information" and "a list of affiliate links available elsewhere" but I need advice on how to revise it. What would be the proper way to solve this if I believe my visitors ARE looking for a list, not a single product?

    Alan,
Something like this? (I edited the code). Better? What else can I do?
You're talking about organic SEO, right? I believe I was talking about something different, Google does not like the site for a PPC campaign. Strange, I did not even realize they rank sites that do PPC. But I am getting no impressions on an active campaign and this is the explanation I was given.

    Google adwords hates Bridge Pages

Here's Google's definition of a bridge page... Bridge Pages: Ads for web pages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company.

I also heard rumor of them Clamping down on Forex sites :(

Looks like you've put a lot of work into that site, if I were you I would concentrate on getting it ranked well in the organic search results

vstar, I take it you like the site? :) my girlfriend is a web designer :D
I just want to clarify, are you saying that this site is not a good candidate for PPC period(no matter what), or can something be revised and still marketed via PPC?

I would first separate you PPC issues from your SEO issues... They are two different things and 100% unrelated to one another.

Your site IS indexed by the search engines... As you can see, Google has 13 pages indexed and Yahoo! has your home page indexed (although I don't see you indexed at Bing or Ask).

You are playing in a VERY competitive market w/ forex trading. A LOT of the people who post here are trying to compete in that market. You might as well plan on spending a lot of time and effort performing on-page, on-site, and off-site SEO to get your pages to rank well. Most sites aren't going to see substantial SEO traffic in markets like yours for 6 months - 1 yr.

From a PPC perspective, there is a lot that figures into whether your Adwords ad at Google is shown on page 1 or not. The most important is how much you bid. You can almost always buy your way to page 1 if you're willing to bid enough per click. The other is your quality score which itself depends on a lot of things like click-thru-rate. We are in a very competitive market and have an excellent quality score on most of our 40,000 ad campaigns at Google and STILL sometimes we are bidding $20 or more per click.

I'm not sure what the 1/10 ranking is your talking about... I thought at first it was your Page Rank, but I see your PR as 0/10 which simply means that you don't have a whole lot of inbound links from other sites.

    Hi

Just seen your post MarkUSA and i thought what an interesting one to comment on. Okay lets get a few things straight first as a few other comments have suggested. PPC adwords and organics, both a very different and need to be put to one side for now. Okay the first thing to check is the crawling on the site, when was it last crawled and was the spider happy? Normally the spider for google is quite good at reporting the problems and you should be able to figure out what the problem is and rectify. Sometimes however the spider crawls crawls and doesnt index any pages or does some and not others.

Okay now how many times have you heard someone say how validating a website is not important? i've heard loads of people out there saying this and to a point a small part of this may be a bit true. In my experiance always validate a website and always fix the issues, some are important and other not but at least the site is valid.

I have ran this on your site and can see that you have Errors found while checking this document as XHTML 1.0 Transitional!
    Result: 59 Errors, 2 warning(s)

Now I can also see in the warnings list something that prevented my site being indexed properly a few years back. I won't tell you the exact answer yet but please fix as much of the errors you can and by the time you have completed this task all should be okay.

You can then move on to your organic listings.

I can't help but add that your blinking text at the top of the page is rather annoying. Anyone who actually tries to read it will not put up with it to finish, so yeah, consider changing that. It also looks too much like an ad. Good luck fixing it up though, overall, good design.

Shivun, thank you for responding and I am glad you found it interesting =)
Could you explain the part about 59 errors? I have no clue about that...
I was very active in the design stage but for programming we paid a freelancer. What exactly are these errors? Will they prevent us from ranking good w/Google?

Yeah, we need to see the website URL before commenting on your thread. There are more than thousands of reasons for a campaign not been accepted.
