    Is using a sitemap generator like xml-sitemaps.com really useful in terms of SEO? or is building a manual sitemap just as effective? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks.

    It is useful and do not give any problem for SEO. It will be handy and much more easier task to use these tools for creating sitemaps.

    Actually I am using xml-sitemaps.com and its also related (Sitemap Generator) tools. They are very useful, because these tools are saved time and gives perfect Sitemap.

    If you have a bigger site, then it's good for use since it's free.
    Manually can take alot of time, so it's better to use a software.

    I think a web tool will never do a good job and it will time out. desktop based spiders that build sitemaps are advisable. thesitemapper does a decent job.

    I would rather build it integrated into the site as if you add new pages, it get updates automatically. If you use a third party tool you need to keep running it everytime you add new pages.

    if you want to generat sitemap for big site which pages is above 5000 then you can use an A1 Sitemap Generator. ihave use it it is very good and effective for use i have used it for my website www[dot]globaleyeglasses[dot]com/sitemap.xml
    and A1 Sitemap Generator url is www[dot]microsystools[dot]com/products/sitemap-generator/:eek:
