Transfering content to different domains - how does that effect ranking?

Let's say I have a site that is doing very poorly, but has 3-4 very original, very long and high quality articles. If I chose to publish those as Ezine articles or squidoo lens, will I get punished from google because google cached those sites in a different domain? Could google think i am using duplicate content, even If I remove the articles form the old site?

Should I just remove the articles from the old site, and wait a little while for Google to un-index them before putting them on a different domain?

I have often wondered the answer to this question.

You could re-write them and them submit them to ezine and squidoo

I think you guys are misunderstanding ... I don't want to re-write the articles. I just want to remove them from my site (which is dead) and submit them as Ezine articles. Is it safe to do this (because of the fact google had previously indexed the articles in another domain?).
