i have a site with 45k+ members and always showing 300 to 400 users online. i am using godaddy dulex plane but it always overloaded and they migrate my site to their other server so i need suggestion which hosting plane suite me and what costs. please tell me with full details.
You might have to go dedi for a membership that size. There's plenty of dedi plans around but make sure they don't hit you with overload fees that you don't understand. Be informed.
which dedi i need for my forum. someone guide me. on godaddy plane they give me 150gb space and 1500gb bandwith but i see all vps and dedi give less than godaddy shared hosting plane like 20gb.
You need a dedicated server which has better CPU than celeron. If you need cheap and reliable servers, you can pm me.
300 to 400 users online ==> Vps is enough for you.. also get some caching system like xcache/ apc installed...
High Ends VPS or small dedicated servers will be correct. VPS with 1GB ram guarantee and be sure to have 1GB 2xQuad CPU or directly a small dedicated servers check for AMD64 X2 4850E /2.5Ghz
Are you looking for offshore or onshore? You will need to definitly leave the shared servers and use a VPS or Dedicated
try http://www.dmehosting.com/budget-linux-vps.php they offer budget vps servers starting at $5.95 a month, Currently what im using for my arcade website it works wonders.
http://www.regencyhost.com/vps.html servers meet these requirements. You can also go to www.wiredtree.com for fully managed vps servers.
Dear i don't know about offshore or onshore. me using only shared hosting with no pain. so i don't know much more about it. my server load average 30 to 100% always today my load is less. image attached.
if you think godaddy will let you use the full 150gb space or 1500gb bandwidth you're highly mistaken, you'll be lucky to use 10% of that bandwidth and maybe 20% of that space for a dollar amount in the single digits. as for onshore/offshore - you have to look at if you host illegal materials - if you are hosting illegal stuff then look for offshore host - otherwise, stay onshore since it's safer from a legal point of view.
I also had the same issue with vBulletin and when I reached a 300 member online stage. I moved out to theplanet.
