Apache HTdocs Help needed | WINDOWS 2008 .

    Hi all ..

    The question .. I installed Apache http server on windows 2008 server ..then i moved my file which i want to download from server to my pc in HTdocs folder and download never starts .. I have another 2003 server and i can download fine from it . ? .. what i am doing wrong .

    Any help please .

    Are you getting any error message? Make sure IIS is stopped if you are running Apache on port 80. Also check Apache error logs. You should get some more information from logs.

    Darn , I uninstalled 2008 and installed 2003 but still it dosent works ..

    When i enter the ip of server in browser and hit enter while on server it says " It works " and when i minimize remote desktop and enter the ip in my home pc browser i get page cannot be displayed / The connection was reset .

    I dunno what i am doing wrong . Looking for urgent help . help please .

    OR . tell/show me some other way to download from server to my home pc via http .


    First i installed ---> apache_2.2.11-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi .. Dosent works .

    Second and the present one installed ----> apache_2.2.11-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8i.msi ... same results as the first one .. Dosent works .

    May I know the extension of file which you are going to download. May be you require to add MIME type from .htaccess.

    Its .rar file i am trying to download ..i can only download if the firewall is off .. if the firewall is on .. forget about it .

    P.S i wanna know how to do MMS or NSV streaming from windows server .

    MIME i dont know what it is .? :(

    What u do is try to install xampp and see if its work maybe apache isnt started at all
