Hello, I have a question about google analytics: I have created my goolge analytics account number, e.g. AB-1234567-1, for a special webpage, e.g. www.mydomain.com. My webpage has different sites like index.html, aboutUs.html and contactUs.html. Now I put the codesnippet with the account number in each site (before the </body>). Now my question: How can I analyse every site separated? How can I analyse index.html separated from aboutUs.html separated from contactUs.html?
On the left side of the analytics page, look for the heading "content". That should give you a breakdown of the pages people are viewing.
I don't think that we can track sub-page separately in Google analytics . But you can check which page receiving good traffic in analytic features .
You can track your pages seperately right in analytics. It will tell you which URL the user is browsing and the biggest keywords that brought them there, etc etc...you can also look on the site overlay to see where your users are clicking. I would suggest that you check out this video: http://services.google.com/analytics/tour/index_en-US.html Once you get the basics, you will see the power of it. Also remember, it is javascript, so the best analytics for traffic numbers are your server logs. Some people choose not to execute JS and some people can't. Also, just so you are clear, you don't add your ID number before the body tag- you add the Javascript that google generatersfor you. It will be a script called ga.js (the older version is urchin.js) Hope that helps. Post any questions you have in the forum- dont PM me if you get the urge.
For my point of view, i personally don't think that we can track sub-page separately in Google analytic. But if it can be done, then it is great.
Good idea! One site and three/more home pages. Good. It is possible to have a counter on each home page.
Pocoyo, I think the answer to your analytics question can be found in the free Google Ranking Account. So why not open one?
Monitor each page across the site and paste the code into the head sections of each page - there should be no reason to track each separately - you could try the setting up goals option where each URL connects to a goal
