Need help for Search Engine Marketing

I have recently launched my new website. I want to promote my business on the web, please give me suggestions how to market a business particularly in the UK?

You could use Google Adwords promote your business in the Google search egnine and specifically target UK viewers only. Googles Adwords program allows you to choose the keywords you wish to target, set maximum bids for clicks, create your own ads, etc. If you would like help with using Adwords then please contact me.

To rank high in the organic search results in search engines such as Google you need to: have high quality content, optimise your site and build backlinks from other high quality and relevant sites. There are millions of threads, blog posts, articles, etc. on the website with methods to build such backlinks, so make sure you check it out.

There are also a number of companies and individuals out there that offer search engine marketing services, so if you do not have the time or expertise you could hire someone to help you out with this. To find someone you could do a google search, ask anyone who know who has a website if they could recommend someone or check out the services section of this forum. Make sure to check out some of their past work/clients as you could be making a big problem for yourself if you hire someone dodgy. If your hiring someone to help you with adwords make sure that they are qualified by Google.

I love how posters ask for help, but they do not put forth the effort and time to write out a decent post.

What is the business about? What is your site?

Are you talking about ads and or organic traffic?

Don't just about all of the folks in your country see the same search engine ads as we, the U.S. sees? So isn't the question of how to market a business particularly in the UK irrelavant???

 

Not really because there are a lot of ways to target the UK market.

 

you can use SEO for long term... and for short term u can use PPC marketing like adword and YSM

 

you need either hire some guys do seo for your site or just do ppc.

 

There is another alternative, they could do some simple SEO themselves.

I am also in the UK and there are many ways of promoting your business here. I would agree with SEO and PPC advice and ability to make them country-specific. But many things depend, really, on what type of business you promote. Assuming that you want UK visitors I could think mostly about selling goods. In this case a good starting point could be BT Tradespace.

Do you not believe DIY SEO is an alternative to mylovegrms solution of "hire some guys do seo for your site"?

 

Use Social bookmarking sites of UK. Place free classifieds in classifieds websites. Do blog comments. Participate in forums.

No, because if someone in the UK does a google search they will see different search results than if someone in the US does a google search for the same thing. To market to UK, they should build links from UK sites, have a .co.uk domain, be hosted on UK servers and even possibly include UK cities or terms in the meta tags.

try adwords or yahoo business..
You can also use SEO tools to improve page ranking in google.

 

Google likes to give extra boost to local sites, e.g.

google.co.uk gives some boost to co.uk sites hosted in uk,
australian google favors australian sites;

Use this to your advantage

 

always SEO locally place ads on local classified directories and try to get back links from co.uk blogs sites etc
