In the 20th century, a bunch of members of a political party flew China into Taiwan from a civil war and still reside there. China declares control over Taiwan, but Taiwan wants to be a free country... sort of. They don't want to start a war - yet? We get lots of products from China and Taiwan. If those two were at a civil war, commerce would decrease. There's also tangled alliances somewhere... I'm not exactly sure, I watched that documentary a long time ago Anyway, that's the big deal.
china has a lot invested in getting taiwan back at this point however. Anytime pres hu jintao meets with political leaders of another country they all reiterate "we agree with the one china policy" which basically means we wont interfere if u attack them. One thing we're forgetting is that china can field the largest army in the world, and it has the largest air force.

i dont think china really has the man-power, as most of chinas population are still farming in the countryside, whereas most americans are brought up learning how to use a gun! --- ok, maybe not being taught, but most with a gun in the house.
China have just barely gained the military power to attack Taiwan this year 2006. Before that 2006 Taiwan's Naval, Airforce, and Missile arsenal were superior. Like I said before. America have more military power than the next 14 countries combined.

And the Naughty kid is...Pakistan.. How easily you guys forget that if your airforce stand anywhere on the map of world, thats because US generously had given you 40+ F-16s. More than Half of your weapons, you got from US. But ofcourse you wont like US anymore because US denies providing you more weapons. So you are getting close to China and North Korea because China's provided you Fighter planes and Nuke techonology and NK was the country from where you got missile techonology. US is the country which provides you millions of dollars every year as different aid. US is the country, because of that, Pakistan managed to survive over 50 years and is surviving only because of aid given by US. China is ruled under dictatership, Pakistan is ruled under dictatorship, both are same so they must be friend, because both countries are affraid of rapid growth of India and countinuous increasing relationship between India and US. Sounds bitter?? Ohh yeah it is, I suppose..

Unlike Pakistan we are a nuclear power since 1974 (We started our nuclear program in 1968 and first tested it in 1974). Our total GDP is 10 times higher than Pakistan's India's GDP - $3.633 trillion against Pakistans $404.6 billion, but right I should be jealous because India is not a loser like Pakistan, he he. The only time when pakistan had better technology than India was 1962, that time Pak had one the best fighter jets of the time - 'Saber jets' against India's highly mis-mached Vampire and Net, yet they failed to utilize it and take a considerable gain over India, and why only Airforce?? That time Pakistan had better tanks too - Paton. but end result was, Pakistan had lost around 20 sabers and 200 patons in the war. Now Pak's army and Airforce do not stand against Indian army and Ariforce. But Pakis like to live in sweet illusion, let them....
China will win the war, they have the best technologie in the world, and they are working privatly on their weapons.
