Alrighty you link building and seo gurus..... I've had a few sites for a while now, and I've tried to go through various traffic building techniques over the last year or so. One thing I've never been sure about is just how much link building I should be doing, and how many per day/per year is suitable. Where are the best back links....ie: comments on blogs, guest posts on blogs, link exchanges, directories....etc. It seems this is one of the really big places I'm failing. dave
That's a really good question and I've actually wondered the same. Any expert on this here? Does content of linked sites matters?
Rather than concentrating on the quantity, you would do well to focus on the quality of your back links. You should always try to get them from similar niche sites to extract maximum benefit. Whatever number of backlinks you decide to do, just make an effort to do them daily and consistently. Always strive for consistency in your work rather than doing it all hog in few days and forgetting about it completely, for a long time! Regards, RightMan
According to me can make 50-100 daily for old sites( 6+ months).. all the links will not index amy be 30-50% will be...
There is no max no. of backlinks build up limit per day IMO... According to me blog commenting, forum posting, relevant link exchange are the best methods for link buildup
it is depend on the age of your site.. if it is just a couple days / weeks it is better if you build just 1-2 link/week and upgrade it later
Its better to get one quality link than 10 poor ones, so its a quality issue rather than "how many". The trick is ensuring they are one way links, rather than low value reciprocal ones.
Yeah i agree with him to , you should go on a top niche site relating your content leave a comment, and leave a link to your site there.
I wrote a post on DP about link building. (Don't worry, not selling anything and no ebook either. ) Check that out when you have the time. it is called "Meaningful link building" Because of time constraints, I build 5-10 links per week. But I can only dedicate 10 hours per week to my websites. however, i make sure that those links are from high ranking sites with DOFOLLOW links. I go to certain forums and blogs all the time and have a good reputation there now, so when I post links there, i get a higher conversion rate. I also write and post 10 articles per week. I distribute them between 3 sites, ezine, hubpages and squidoo. There is no set limit to how many links you should get. Obviously, the more, the merrier. However, you should make sure that it is quality links. Don't spam and try go get higher PR sites to link to you. If a site has a PR1 or PR 2, I typically avoid posting links there. What I do once a month is to look at my list of sites. I have a spreadsheet of about 50 sites where I post links. All of them are PR3 or higher. Once a month, I spend a couple of hours online researching good sites where i can post links. If i find any good ones, I add it to my spreadsheet and start posting on those sites. Again, because of time constraints, i focus on 50 sites per month, so I am constantly deleting sites that don't bring me much traffic. Make sure that you analyze your traffic. Just posting links is not enough. See who is bringing you more traffic. that way, you won't waste your time posting to site that don't do anything for you.
flutterby88, have you used it? what results have you got? I am always looking to try new things but am very apprehensive when I have to give my email address and info in order to get something in return, because more often than not, the tools are not good and i get on these people's email list. I am really interested to see if this tool really works. If it does what you say it does, then it is good to have and worth trying.
It depends on what kind of keyword(s) you are targetting - competetiove keywords will require alot of link building.
