Google Chrome Operating system

I dont think they'll have difficulty overtaking microsoft It's all a matter of time

I'm goona be first in line to watch it Google take down microsoft It's goona be fun watching the microsoft VP's begging people to buy Windows after Google's Chrome comes out

 

we have to wait for some more time to use it. but google always concentrate on quality. if they give this free may be one day they beat microsoft

 

i think google will not takeover Microsoft but they will be as big as them and sony and apple as common brand in tech.

 

Naw, i'm guessing Microsoft is goona be running for the hills very very soon

 

It means Microsoft can have competent competitor in OS! because Google is soon about to launch their maiden OS

So that means we would be able to use our favorite designing softwares like adobe photoshop etc on google chrome os and i think thats a good news for me specially being a web designer and developer! But their are many third party softwares and games which wont be supported at first so it may take few years to a decade to finally get a true replacement of windows!

 

I guess Microsoft's got a lot of trouble coming it's way with chrome under development

 

Google won't win Microsoft in the OS industry, just like Microsoft won't win Google in the search engine industry.

Yes I'm aware that Unix has been around longer than Windows but the question would be, has Unix/Linux been successful like Windows? C'mon ask 10 people around you if they are using Windows, chances are 8 out of 10 are windows users.

With Windows 7 coming around, this will be a tough one.

 

Yeah but the main reason microsoft took off was to do with backing, if linux and unix in general was more thoroughly backed by software companies and computer manufacturors (google chrome has this to some extent) it could take off.

 

Outside the desktop, if you asked 10 people if they used Windows, 8 out of 10 will tell you, "No". *nix dominates everything else. Yes, it's successful.

Reuters has an article that says 6/10 businesses will not be buying Windows7.

 

Its a very pre mature thought to say that it can beat Microsoft. Ubuntu and Fedora also claimed it but ain't able to beat Microsoft. The stance of chrome is somehow different they claimed more security and fast speed which is the major problems of Windows. Oh? Where did you read that? I never heard them claim that.

 

Just like linux or apple? It better be screaming to convert most people.

 

I really don't think Google will be Microsoft with the first OS it puts out. It will probably be years down the road before they are even copetative. How many operating systems has Microsoft put out? And they STILL haven't perfected certain things.

I'll take a look at it, but I doubt it will be anything special...

 

Um. ChromeOS is Linux. Linux came out just six years after Windows. Plus, it's based on Unix which was out decades before Windows.

 

I honestly don't think it will, at least not with its first release. Microsoft have been doing this OS thing for a while, even though they don't always hit home runs... they do have a lot of experience.
