June 27th revisited

I have the same two issues. What did you do about the spam sites scraping your content and linking to you? It seems there are hundreds of blogs doing this to me.

 

I just wrote them Cease & Desist letters when they used more than a sentence or two, and it usually worked, but it got to be too much work...

 

We can't be punished for something others are doing can we?

 

Uh, if what you are doing is illegal, you can be. Just because someone hasn't been busted yet, doesn't make you immune to it.

I don't know what lorien1973 is referring to, but Chiara's talking about people scraping her site.

Google's word on this is that there is "almost" nothing that someone else can do to hurt your rankings...

What are you talking about? Someone hasn't been busted yet? Please read the post before suggesting I am doing something illegal. I said OTHER SITES are scraping MY content. MFA sites. I think I said it in plain English. They are linking to my pages. How exactly did you conclude that I was doing something illegal from that?

 

This morning Google has sent me more traffic than in each entire day since the June 27th massacre. I'll have to wait and see how the day goes, maybe they've fixed whatever they screwed up. Has anyone else noticed anything?

 

Well, I've got one page showing back up on the keyword tool (meaning it's in the top 200), but not anywhere near where it was on 6/27. All the other pages are still in never never land.

Hopefully I'm just on a different schedule than you'all and mine will be back shortly. Hopefully. Please.

 

On my one site that got clobberred on June 27th, I'm seeing everything roll back to about how things were before then ... so this is a good thing.

 

Same here, my site that was banished to the wilderness has almost returned to pre June 27th positions.

 

I'm seeing a massive resurgence of Google traffic.

Must be on another schedule since I am not seeing anything, except that I am getting more hits from MSN and Yahoo..... my sites is still fucked up in Google, supplemental hell, and all that crap. Maybe they have a list they have to go through one by one...... automation? My a$$..

 

I'm tellin' ya, its a purposeful chaos in the results to keep things fresh. Its just matter of who gets hit when. For no good reason at all, either.

 

No light at the end of the tunnel for me. This really is harsh, but i suppose it will teach me not to have all my revenue streams dependent on GOOGLE.....I hope soon i will be able to re employ all the staff i've laid of this week....

Ya, if this keeps up, I'll begin to hate the 27th of the month as much as I hate Microsoft's second tuesday of the month.

I can't believe how hard Google hit me on July 27th. They have just about killed me in their SERPs, like you said, for no good reason. My site is the hallmark of what Google says they want in a site. Yet it's being treated like some lame MFA site. The revenue I'm losing because of this is really going to hurt.
