Hello all I was wondering if it is worth the 3 bones to get in the Yahoo directory.. Furthermore they say they keep the money if they turn your application down. Any feedback it would be greatly appreciated THANKS. John
It depends on what you annual budget is. It's not the first place I would spend $300, but its worth it if you have a good producing site. It used to be that a yahoo directory listing carried a lot of weight with yahoo SERP's, but because the yahoo results were being dominated by yahoo directory listed sites, they changed their algorithm so that is carries very little weight at this time. I have a site that is ranked #1 in the yahoo directory for an extremely competitive keyword but the traffic it sends is minimal. Matt Cutt's named the Yahoo Directory when asked which were the three most important directories (the other two were BOTW and DMOZ.)
