The only way to get rid of them is to tent/fumigate the building. Keeping them out is a different story and revolves around not being a pack-rat and keeping your house spotless.

If you move and you have them, hopefully you're using an enclosed uhaul truck. Before you take your stuff out at the new place, let off as many bug foggers as you can get inside the truck with your stuff in it and leave the door closed overnight. Then leave the door open for a few hours and wash everything as you bring it inside. They'll hitchhike inside of ANYTHING especially electronics.

Interesting tidbit about roaches I learned by watching them when I was in my early 20s and had two roommates. While they can turn on a dime, they don't seem to be able to walk backwards.

I hate those animals. I must be happy, cause in our climate there aren't so many.
Step onto them, fire 'em up, spray 'em...Just kill them :D

Try using a anti-pest stick pad with food baits on them. It's a clean way of ridding those pests.

Burn them. While they are on fire, step on them, putting out the fire and killing them.

Get a cat. They love chasing after them and eating them.
