Any here still using Email marketing? I have tried this for sometime, but I don't really see the result, any advise?
People hat spam mail. I used to received around hundred mails a day, 99% of them goes direct to the delete folder. This answer your question.
Targeted email markeitng based on forums etc might come in handy, but no i think email marketing has sort of lost it's flare =]
I think it is not working as of now.. cos almost all of the people are wise enough about that. I personally received emails from my inbox and spam folders but i directly delete it without reading them.. So its useless..
I totally disagree with all comments above. Email marketing is still one of the most effective fastest, and reliable traffic source out there and it's going nowhere. I don't think many online marketers can survive without email marketing. Why do you think marketers still need JV partners with huge lists? Not because they just want to be friends. They want to help promote each others' product through their list. It's proven to be the fastest and most effective way to get traffic to your website. Why do you think you get so many of them today, because it works. People won't be doing it if it don't work. For those that don't work for them. You need to monetize you list and build trust with them. I don't mean to jump on this, but someone above mentioned that they trash 99% percent of their emails, therefore, basically I'm assuming they meant email marketing doesn't work anymore. Well, as marketer's we don't think like people who is receiving emails, we're the ones who's doing the selling or promotion. We're not the ones reading it. If we think like they think, may death do email marketing. Example scenario, these are all spam emails so I'm going to trash it or unsubscribe. Then, they go ahead and think since I trash my emails, then others will trash them like I do to mine. Therefore, email marketing doesn't work anymore. I mean there's millions of people on the net and they all don't think like you do. I apologize if this offends anyone, but it's the truth. I'm still making a living off of my list alone and is happy with email marketing. It's that power and still is. Result, build yourself a responsive list because it's still effective.
E-mail marketing works but you need to follow some simple but crucial rules. No spamming Send e-mails only to those who opted in for receiving newsletters, etc. Provide useful and practical information to readers Do not send e-mail offers saying - we have the greatest product, buy it now. Try to build up an expert reputation. You need to make people think that you really are an expert in your field and that you know what you are talking about. Provide practical information - for instance if you sell silver jewelry send practical tips on jewelry cleaning, if you provide internet marketing services, give few tips to readers on how to improve their rankings using some of the free tools, etc. If you follow these rules, your newsletters and e-mail marketing campaigns will attract much more attention.
To a limited extent, yes, email marketing does work. But, the email is more likely to be read if it is from someone the person knows. Such as, you get the owner of a popular forum to send out emails to his/her members and include your advertisement. If the email is from someone the person does not know, its less likely to be read.
Email marketing definitely still works. It's like everything else in the world. If you take the time to do it the right way and put a lot of effort into what you're doing, you will see results. You can apply that sentiment to SEO, link building, article marketing, video marketing, social networking or anything else outside of the realm of the Internet or marketing in general. People think your messages are SPAM when they aren't expecting them and when they don't know who you are. That's why you need to build a permission based list of people who are real customers and prospects of yours. If you do that and you create informative, engaging emails that people can spot easily, you'll see the email marketing is consistently the BEST and most cost effective way of generating new sales.
I am there with you man. Email marketing is HUGELY effective. Ever notice how the biggest marketers in the internet make their money. With their list (whether through JV or their own) that they email and add value to. Best way to form a long term customer, period.
If you establish trust and a good relationship with your customers email marketing works just fine. You can't start pushing products on them right off the bat though. Give them some valuable content first and get them interested in what you have to say. Over time they'll begin to look forward opening mail from you. Only then it's effective to point them to a few products – and even then you can't be overly aggressive.
Nicely put! I KNOW for a FACT that email marketing is still one of the best marketing channels in the world. I am the Web Marketing Director for a company that generated over 30 million dollars last year alone -JUST- from their newsletter subscribers. It's the same as with Web Marketing. If you give them good content, they will become a loyal customer. If you build a relationship with the people you are emailing, you can definitely sell to them. The key is to build up your list with 'loyal' followers. If you're just spamming people... NO, that's never going to work. If people WANT to hear from you... you can make millions.
This looks like you are depending on repeat customers. Is that correct? What are you selling with your email campaigns. If what you say is true I don't see how it can work with something like an e-book (one time sale).
Well you have to sell other peoples products not only yours. It's extremely helpful if you find JVs to work with. How big is your list? I can probably help. If you have a GOOD product I might consider taking you on as a JV on a split, but it would depend on the size and quality of your list The only way to make money with email marketing is to sell stuff right? That doesn't mean it has to be YOUR stuff only. Most JVs are willing to do a 50/50 split if you have a decent list and if you don't they might be able to sell YOUR product on a different split.
Speaking of lists... we have over a million subscribers and if anyone has a good list with product we're open to JV partnerships all the time.
The question here will be how to build a good list in order to move into email marketing. Concentrate on how to build a list first before you even come to this. Thanks
Unsolicited email doesn't work and mostly will not be opened at all. However, email to subscribers are still very effective. I have been doing some affiliate marketing and promoting through email to subscribers has high conversion rate, even higher than using ppc.
