Starting my VPS

I purchased a vps from a company that i knew had very bad support because it was very cheap so i am not mad at that. My questions is, i purchased and paid for the vps. I got the automatic emails with my password and everything.

    I was given this link
https://vps.myhost.com:8887 (my host was replaced for my real host)

The link goes to nothing. This also happened at the last company i went to for a vps and they gave me a different link to try and it worked. I forgot what they said, so i was wondering if anyone knew what it was.

Normally it should work if u use firefox then u have to add the ssl to safetly list first coz these ppl use https which is actually unsigned

I assume they are running HyperVM. Due to security vunrebilities and it no longer being developed many VPS providers disabled HyperVM from public access - that will be why you can not access it.

likely an automated response and no one has updated it yet. Any other links in the welcome email that you can use?

You should verify your firewall, router, or anything else that sits between you and the internet is not blocking access to that specific port. Additionally, your ISP may block certain inbound and outbound ports. It may be worth a try to give them a call if you believe the latter is the case.

Looking at that its the secure https link to a HyperVM installation, as mentioned it wouldnt suprise me if your host has disable HyperVM access due to all the mess caused by the hacking incident and 0 day exploit as it was called.
