I think one of my websites got banned by google. Not sure, but when i searched certian keyword phrases in google, my site was number one, now most of those key phrases are on page 2 and some of them dont even show up with my site. Also, when you google my domain name, the site isnt even number one. I still have the pagerank though and get the usual amount of traffic from google. It happened overnight. If this was a ban, how long will it take effect for? (i was was trying some black-hat seo thing) and i guess google might of finally got up to it after a (very long) time.
A day or two before it happened i did a few link exchanges, you think that might of caused it? Any clues?
as long as your site is indexed and can find your site in search results then that isn't a ban. What that means is, your competitors are working bit harder than you are right now. Updating their content, optimising their site and building quality links. So, you need to step up a gear to be able to get your old position.
my understanding is that when you google your domain name, you site hsould be #1 if it isn't, then that may indicate a penalty this shows a penalty, not sure how accurate it is but check it out www.seopenalty.com (you don't use the www. in your url? so that may present a problem with that device perhaps)
Ok I want to ask that how can we know any domain is banned . 1.Like if i want to buy a expired domain from google but I want to check it than what to do . 2. Is their any way to remove ban if you purchased domain from someone or from expiry list section . Please answer seniors .
If you get banned by Google, all your pages will be removed from their search index. Not sure of about your second question.
Agreed with choice that you experiencing serp flux and not much more.. (though if your using black hat it could come back to haunt you later.. so fix it) Nice to see you again Choice and posting again in the forum! laterz malcolm
if you are 100% sure that your site got banned, you gotta file a Google Reconsideration Request on Google Webmaster Tools. Explain to them in detail what you have done that might have caused this ban (too much link building, over optimisation, spam, etc...) and your site should be back where it should be within a few days. It worked for me.
Your site is NOT banned from google. If it was "banned" - it would not show up at all. It sounds like your experiencing normal floating in the google results pages.
Google's nice about alot of things they'll give you a second change in anycase even if your site is banned (which based on what you've said i dont think so) just make sure that you do it the nice way?
I see things like this will new websites all the time. Its normal. Just keep on building quality links and your website will return in serps.
Yes, this has happened to one of my newer sites as well, currently my site has "disappeared" - hopefully to reappear here in the next few days or weeks... I'm sure its just the Google shakeout.
Google change it's algorithm a lot, as well as changing sites positions to see which sites do better in different positions. Your site will probably show back up soon, probabl not a ban so don't worry
