I made a thread "Micheal Jackson Dies" and then saw the thread opener was someone else so i just thought its someone elses thread.

And today i saw the thread I opened "How many times have you been banned?" is now by someone else?

    Only the OP is changed!

I thought it might be other threads but i went to see all the threads i've opened and i couldn't find the ones i opened with the SAME titles.

    WTF!

Or someone can prove me wrong by linking me to MY threads?

Maybe a mod combined two names they thought were duplicates?

I think the threads are joined together. But still the best way to know about it is to ask some MODs.... :D

The forum was down earlier so maybe a database issue....I know lost over 1000 posts at one point.

Not sure if they disappeared or maybe there was an issue similar to yours.

Threads of duplicate topics are sometimes merged together into a single thread. Let's take your "Michael Jackson Dies" thread as an example. This is the post that started your thread (made on Jun 26th 2009, 2:41 am (my time). Unfortunately there was already 182 posts before yours on that topic. :)

The first post being on Jun 25th 2009, 3:01 pm (also my time).

So yes, it was a duplicate thread and yours was merged into the original one. You gotta be (much, much, much) faster if you want to be the first to start a topic like that. lol 182 posts in the thread before you created one. :)

The old "How many times have you been banned?" thread was almost DEAD! and i started a new one and it never died... just to know someone else is taking credit? I really dont like this! And i didn't find ANY thread of that topic not dead (the similar topics at the end shows the last post date)

Well, if someone had the idea first, they arent really stealing credit. Its their credit to begin with.

How did someone else "take credit"? If people start a topic that already has a thread, it should be merged into the original topic.

What do you mean "taking credit"? What difference does it make on who started the thread? Surely, it's not the 2 cents in adsense that you are worried about losing...

I missed the thread. Who is he?

Don't you think blogmaster created the best ever dp thread? Wouldn't he be PISSED off if was merged into someone else's thread and he is no longer the OP?

OP? I'll assume you mean operator. You lose the ability to change anything on the first post after 8 hours, so thread starters are not operating anything.

As far as Blogmaster creating the "best ever" dp thread. Not that I can think of.. I've seen a lot of mindless threads from me. :) Regardless, if you find a duplicate thread topic, just report it and it should be merged.
