Is there any place on a computer forum for such racism? I would complain about individual posts, but there are simply too many. Perhaps we shouldn't have an unmoderated hate forum at digital point????????? I want to complain, can anyone give me an email address to the site owner
I honestly don't know what you're talking about either. If there are "too many", list a few then that you're talking about because I don't know of any.
You don't know what I am talking about?? Can I ask if you know what racsim is?? the very first post after this one contains this line. The muslim I know in Los Angeles Palestinians, Iranians, Afghanies, all of them lie and cheat and that's OK with them. I never met a single honest muslim in America I'm not going to bother arguing about this, as I said, I intend to complain to the owners.
There's a 'Report Post' feature in every post you read (the red triangle). If you think it's inappropriate or otherwise violates our simple rules, use that to bring it to the moderatorss attention and it will be dealt with promptly.
So do these count. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1191545&postcount=24 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1191545&postcount=24
I'm not defending what he said as accurate or true, but "Muslim" is not a race, and making posts against a religion are not "racism." If you want an example of racism just find a post by user ly2 with the word 'mexicans' in it
Regardless, there's not a specific policy against racism or other offenses. We just expect a healthy dose of 'common sense' and some degree of intelligence from members for as far as that term is a useful one. If you chose to insult an entire nation or millions of believers of a certain religion, you have to accept the consequences moderators see fit.
Stay out of the general chat, politics and religion forums! That way, you will never be offended or pissed at what is said there. From the few times I have been in there, it must be the place to go and post away if you are ignorant of the world, religion and history. It is at times a funny read to go there and check out some of the threads.
Well then don't you think there should be some kind of rule/guideline as to what can be said and what can't? If this particular member is going to be punished for that you might as well punish 90% of the posts in the P&R forum...
Exactly. The whole reason there is a politics and religion forum is to keep that crap out of the rest of the forum. If you see something over the top and racist, report the post and it will be taken care of. I sure as heck am not going to sit around and babysit the politic and religion forum, though. That would be a full time job .
No because then we'd have to write down exact sentences of what you can and can't say. People have brains, they should put them to good use. The guideline is basically this: Realizing there are 35 thousand people from well over a 100 different countries, probably over 50 distinct cultures, probably over 3 dozen different religions, all who have various degrees of sensitivity about subjects; we expect members to think rationally about their posts prior to submitting them. If you can make money online, you obviously have at least a basic form of intelligence. Use that to your own and other people's benefit. And just ask yourself... What have you gained personally from yapping about all those things? Is the world a better place now? Did you make any money?
I'm sure everybody realises that, and I'm also sure it's not possible to talk about politics/religion without offending someone. If nothing else, it's fun and entertaining and also an eye-opener into what people different then yourself think about the world.
I wouldn't single out anyone with that. I recall a member from "the other side" saying he deserved to be blown to pieces because of what he writes. Not sure if any statement he has ever made would justify that.
