Hello everyone My name is Jack and I'm 19 years old. I found DP through google when I was looking for a discussion forum about making money online. I was talk with a information technology highschool teacher about how to make money online and with small businesses and he told me something very important. To learn from people who have already done what I want to achieve and to discuss and talk with people who have already done what I plan to do. So what better place than here I started my search for a way to make money online 2 years ago. I've just done it off and on. Something I kept my mind open to and liked to read about sometimes in my free time. I've went back and forth from it. Maybe I'd be obsessed for a month then quit for 4 months.. then be obsessed for 3 months then quit again I've tried so many methods with not much success. Maybe my problem is not being able to stay focused.. or maybe it's the fact that I've never had money to start with.. or.. the fact that I spend so much time reading about it that I never actually get to doing it. lol Reminds me of something I read.. that there are so many people out there that are working so hard that they don't have time to make money haha. Things I've tried: Selling on ebay - made around $150 profit from just selling trading cards and things around the house Cashcrate - lol never cashed out on this.. Have like 8 dollars in the account. PPC - Didn't really try this.. I just set myself up for failure and picked a clickbank money making ebook and set up a google ad and let it go.. wasted only $20 with no sales. Adsense - Set myself up for failure with this one.. A year ago I made a 6-ish page website.. didn't know a dang thing about adsense.. just threw ads on there but I had them blended in well with the template and everything. Made about $12 from this then abandoned my website. I should have planned better and made a good website. I tried making a new adsense account and they said they found my old one and i can't have multiples. So i tried using the adsense ads from the old account and now they are all public service ads. Does this mean my account has been smart priced due to inactivity for a year? Project Payday aka GPT - This is the last thing I tried.. I made $15 with it.. it's a very well working system but it seems like only the people at the top get the real money. Beginning sucks and to make $15 I had to sign up with several trial offers and pay $3 out of pocket.. so really the profit was $13. And then had to wait for trial offers to be halfway over and call them and sit on phone for 30 minutes cuz the lady wouldn't cancel my order had a bad accent and kept trying to convince me to stay on the trial no matter what it took. Even tho I told her I had $30 in my bank account why Am i going to stick to a program thats $50 a month and I Don't use anyways? The most recent success story I read is about the owner of plentyoffish.com it took him years but he grew to be making $10 million dollars a year and got an adsense check for $900,000 dollars or so.. crazy stuff. It seems very hard to make a livable income from adsense alone to me. Unless you own a successful dating site or blogging site or social network or something where your visitors create the pages for you. Doesn't it? The people that I've heard about making over $5k a month seem to be sites like that. Sorry for my rambling. I have become more and more determined to find a way to make a living online. It's said that only 3-5% make it big and only like 20% make over $2000 a month right? Well my goal is to first start making $20 a month or $30 a month and work from there.. Can anyone help me get started? I feel like I'm getting behind in life. I'm 19 years old and don't have a real job at the moment. I have a $100 to spare what would be the best investment to start making money? I don't care how hard it is or how many months it takes as long as I can see progress. That's my motivation, visual progress. Thanks in advance for any comments, answers, or welcomes And feel free to share your experiences or how much you earn or your method of doing it. Thanks.
Adsense is a terrible way to make money online, in my opinion. Just way too much work for very little pay. There are lots of good ideas mentioned on this board, including writing articles, becoming an affiliate, building email lists and selling to the list, etc. If you poke around you'll find something that works for you. Check out the Amazon affiliate program, CJ.com, AssociatedContent.com, and steer clear of Adwords until you are making some money. Good luck!
Too much work for very little pay with adsense So you don't think it's possible to make over $1000 per month with an 80 page fully unique content website? well guess it has a lot of factors eh.. like the niche etc. I think i will read more into becoming an affiliate, they make it sound kind of simple.. but i guess the hard part is getting targeted traffic eh. and while being an affiliate you can build your email lists right from your landing page maybe that's my problem.. i've been poking around but only thinking of ideas so much and not trying them enough. I just don't want to mess up again. YOu have to already have a website set up to use cj.com eh? Thanks for your reply.
Post on AC to get easy paypal cash. THen with that cash create a vcc and pay someone on elance to write for you. Eventually you will be making a consistent income where u can branch out into other aspects of internet marketing
As I see it, your biggest problem is that you give up http://www.learntoearn101.net/2009/07/dont-fail-by-giving-up-too-soon.html As for GPT, I was making around $200-$300 a month when I first started. And I did that without doing trial offers. I've got a free tutorial http://tutor4gpt.blogspot.com/2007/08/introduction-yes.html Affiliate marketing works but you've got to drive traffic to your site...targeted traffic And btw, CashCrate IS a GPT site.....And you only need another $2 to make cashout. You can do it with free offers....read my tutorial first to help you out
Thank you all for the replies and information @couchsurfer06: hmm write articles I don't think i'm a good enough writer to do that and isn't there something more i could do in the long run? I've been thinking about making a website in a niche that has 47,000 searches a month according to the keyword tool and there is only one competitor site and I think i could do a lot better.. is it a dumb idea to just get started writing and making a simple 80 page site with adsense on it and affiliate links from clickbank, CJ.com, and amazon/ebay? @jman51: what is AC? and what's a VCC? lol ah. @dfourss: yea biggest problem is i give up. I guess i'm looking for someone to give me a push. I've never been able to do it on my own without telling me it's the right thing to do. For example.. online history classes.. there's no teacher.. just hours and hours and days and days.. a whole semester of reading just thrown at me without a teacher.. I couldn't do it.. i had to drop it and take a real class for that subject. Too boring to read about something the opposite of interesting. Wow nice, you made $200-$300 per month from GPT. I had a good idea about this. People are constantly looking to make money online. And to make money with referrals you need people willing to do offers to get money right? So why not have a good website/tutorial that explains it all. And they can do offers for you on your website and you can set something up to automatically send them $15-20 when they go green or whatever.. make sense? automated system that people can just come to your site to make money while making you money. Wonder if anyone else has thought of this. lol or if it's against rules.. or people would probably often get mad if something goes wrong like credits not going through.. oh well. Has anyone here just recently started doing something with affiliate marketing to any success? Thanks again guys
A GPT tutorial IS a good idea. I wrote one a year ago LOL http://tutor4gpt.blogspot.com/2007/08/introduction-yes.html As for paying someone to go 'green', that too has been around for a while (although not automatic payout). You'll even find offers for that here on the DP forum. I don't work those type of sites. Yes, you can make some decent money at it but most of the offers are trial offers and I like to stay with the free ones. As for success with affiliate marketing, if you mean simply making some money, I suspect a lot of DP members have had success, including myself. The BIG $$ are earned by the very few. But I've made money with Adsense, Amazon, and CJ, just to name a few.
If you put together an 80 page site with decent content that people have an interest in, drive traffic to it via writing articles and putting them on sites like ezinearticles.com, place adsense on there as well as CJ, Clickbank, Amazon, you have a real good chance of making a decent income. My main site earner is 43 pages gets about 5000 unique visitors a day during the week and drops off hard on the weekends (it's a business related site) and I average between 800.00 and 1000.00 monthly with adsense alone. All told, I never do less than 8000.00 monthly and often break 10,000.00 monthly. I write a lot of articles, am not the world's best writer, submit 5 a day to ezine and make linkwheels with the others. No magic formula, nothing fancy or exotic but I do work 12 hours a day or so in order to generate that revenue. Hope some of what I wrote helps you.
Why don't you sign up for Travis Sago Bum Marketing course? It's free. http://bummarketingmethod.com Since you've got 100 bucks, you can later on invest in some article creation software and in registering your own domain name. Then you'll be all set up for success in affiliate marketing.
hi to all members DP, Thank you all for the replies and information. I have earn money with POKER. to more details pm me. thanx. ernadi
I think that's everyone's problem when they first start out: they get a bit excited, dabble in little bits and pieces without actually indulging in one idea. I've been caught in the same trap, but managed to play my cards right and still cashed in on those initial dabbles. Never have the attitude that you cannot make x amount through x means. You can, you've just gotta work hard at it. Are you going to be making 2,000$ a month through Adsense starting next month? No, probably not. But maybe in 6 months time, you might be a little closer to reaching that goal. I started out setting up unique websites, writing my own articles in my own words, selling links and then flipping them. It made quite a bit, but I don't think that is for me. I now run an ecommerce business and I've been making good money with a fairly steady cashflow. I always worry that it's going to die down when the rest of the market finally catches up to me, but that's nothing to worry about today.
jaxrefinance: you said it! "No magic formula, nothing fancy or exotic but I do work 12 hours a day or so in order to generate that revenue." IMO 99% of the people feel they can just throw up a site and the money will come rolling in. They don't realize that to make money, like you have, it is still a full (if not more) time job
Wow thank you very much for this I went to that site and I watched every video and I read everything and wanted to keep reading and reading and then reading it again to understand it better. And I was falling asleep in my chair at 6 in the morning staying up all night.. and wanted to stay up longer and read more. Very good read and good info I love it. Makes me think I better start now.. cuz it's going to get even more and more popular in the future. More and more competition.
You have come to the right place. When i started marketing,i begin to search online and participate with related discussions like in forums. It's a big plus knowing there is really money online.
