On my website http://portlandsauto.com i have people list there used cars for sale daily... I sometimes place the ads on craigslist for traffic, its good but it doesnt last long and the ads get flagged. Do you guys have any suggestions where i can submit these ads for free as a backlink to every ad and for fast traffic? Will DIGG work? anything else?
Try Digg stumble and other social bookmarking sites, i'm quite sure you'll be doing fine within no time at all
You could use free mobile advertising, it was rumored that you can get huge traffic from mobile phones
I dont thing cellular advertising works that well, raw out bound advertising through websites offline adwords etc is the way to go
You should use some banner campaigns on other related websites. I think that would be your best option.
There are thousands of classified ads sites you can place free ads on. USfreeads, InetGiant, Backpage, Ablewise, SubmitClassified, UseAD, just to mention a few.
Try some offline marketing, shop windows are really cheap, just drive around your town with some spare change find shops then put a flyer up in there window with your web address, very effective, people always seem to stop and look.. hope this helps
If you make images of the ads you post on Craigslist, and post your image with just a title, they will usually stick longer. One caveat is that you have to post some random content under your ad: WAY under your ad. Just find a short paragraph from ANY news story and use it as random text.

Your right, craigslist links are no-follow. But, if you manually add the rel=follow into the code it will stay like that. It really give my site a boost, when i do craigslist, it seems i get double the hits from google. But ads get flagged quick, takes too much time.. etc.
For fast traffic you could purchase targeted advertising from some traffic resellers but that's usually a waste of money. Have you tried posting on free advertising forums daily? You will get a backlink and also recieve some traffic from doing this. Also put a link in your profile and siggie since profiles get indexed in search engines. It's no holds bar when posting on them so i'm sure you will get traffic. I would suggest write articles about your site but that won't bring in fast traffic. Join twitter and facebook.... those sites are very active besides craigslist. Try any form of free advertising till something works for you.
