I have a new wordpress site which I maintain for a German kiddies soccer club. I update the site on regular intervals, ie every 2 days. The thing that puzzles me is that if I post a new article at 12 o clock midday and punch in a few keywords into google just 45 - 60 mins later, my article shows up at 1. position on results- This seems weird as I only published the article an hour before. Can someone explain this?. I dont get these kind of results on any of my other sites, no matter how hard I try.....the site would be badsodenfussball.de ( all in german of course ). In other words....What am I doing right ???? ( ha ha ha )
Wordpress pings your posts as soon as you create them. If you've been updating frequently, your site is also being checked regularly. Additionally, for a "german kiddies soccer club" the competition probably isn't that fierce.
and also google love new site + google provide honeymoon period for all new site... u on the right path, keep the update and build more backlink (put ur site in your DP signature, it help in long run) ... yes good love wordpress or wordpress is google type
I would recommend wordpress over joomla as the support for wordpress is overwhelming. Also wordpress has more plug-ins that are related to seo...some of the best ones are... Google Sitemaps Ping Optimizer Platinum SEO Have fun
not any bad thing with wordpress and it has small advantage to index in google other than other sites. You can find lot of SEO friendly plugging. you can take advantage from it.
Because of the pinging system, Google tends to index your posts quite frequently. Ranking for your keywords one hour later after you posted the article is not something rare ( the keywords may be of a recent topic that no one else has covered) Check your rankings for the same keyword a week or so later. Chances are that you would have dropped out once all the major sites started to publish news about the same topic.
Thats why I love wordpress, because Google loves wordpress . I've built websites from scratch, and using a lot of different CMS's, but wordpress sites always seem to rank the best.
I was asking with this too. I think Joomla is good than Wordpress but Wordpress is much easy than Joomla of course..
I hope that you are not getting a lot of traffic because people are mistaking your "German kiddies soccer club" site with some kind of kiddie porn keywords, lol
You have to tweak Wordpress a bit to get it optimized. There's numerous SEO plugins available for Wordpress. I use Google XML sitemaps and all in one seo pack.
Wll thanx for all your input people. What puzzles me now is that I just received an infraction for posting in wrong category: "Dear Infusionx, You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums. Reason: Thread Started In Wrong Category" This is something I just dont understand because I am asking questions related to Googles method of indexing new posts I make on my own webseite. Is this really worth an infraction ???
