Isn't that common for most social bookmarking sites? It's true they bring in lot of traffic however this kind of traffic hardly converts.

social bookmarking sucks..i had like 1000 uniques a day from stumble.but it was all useless.

To everyone from reddit: You are better than digg, your content is fresh and your comments are sometimes informative and even funny. I like coming to reddit than seeing the same thing on digg 24 hours later, its like the internets own time machine.

The spamming wont stop, but you have good systems in place to make sure it's not "gamed" like your friends over at digg.

I agree with you on that one. I think the best thing to do is use them for traffic but don't expect anything from them n dont put too much time and effort into them. If you keep the traffic coming anyway you never know who might find ur site useful

Anyone who can't get traffic the good old fashioned way is a failure.

 

And let me mention, that at Reddit, many of us go use scripts to automatically downvote your user names and the domains your spam for to ensure that your posts are not seen.

We share your names in the ReportTheSpammers sub-reddit as well as report your posts to the admins. They may not always ban your usernames or block your posting domains, but I can guarantee that none of your posts ever make it to the front page of Reddit.

Try taking a look at your profile on reddit. See anything there with more that 1 or 2 votes? How many do you see with 0? Click on comment for one of the 0 posts and to see how many downvotes it actually received.

reddit is like a random drive-by with no guarantee of innocent bystanders (or any at that matter) even being present when you unload the clip

Reddit can be good for back links though. If you have a submission that gets a lot of upvotes it will be picked up on many other smaller sites that (not the aggregators) but people actually posting about it on their blogs and sites.

I have no problem with reddit maybe it the niche 2 weeks ago my server went down I lost 90% of my stumble upon traffic which now has came back but I also use reddit and during the time the server went down I received at least 20 clicks from reddit alone and I also get clicks from stumble upon the ctr is not the greatest but there are clicks yesterday I got 61 clicks between stumble upon and reddit and organic. Thats out of 7,300 page impreesions
