What to Do For People wanting Appraisals If you are wanting to get an appraisal for your domain name(s). Please specify the following things in your appraisal request Name of the Domain Registration Date What do you want to use the domain for If you are planning to sell the domain, then specify what can the niche be used for. If you have a website, also include the following- Subject of the Website Business Details (if business exists) Traffic Details (How many Hits, How many Unique Hits) Income From the website Pages Indexed in Search Engines (Yahoo, Google, MSN etc.) Backlinks in Total Site Rankings for Keywords (If Relevant) Google Pagerank Alexa Rank Member Details (If forums etc.) Content Details (How many Articles etc.) Ideal Example coming Soon For People giving appraisals If you want to give an appraisal to the person, you should include the following things in your appraisal - Estimated Value of the Domain If Undeveloped, then Development Idea for the domain If Developed, then further advice and ideas and/or enhancement techniques Sale Advice Optimization Advice (if possible) References (if any) Any other Advice/Tips What Not to Do What you should not do in the Domain Appraisals forum- For People wanting Appraisals You should not, under any circumstances, practice the following when seeking an appraisal- Put down people Provide Incomplete Details Ask for offers from sellers, the marketplace forum is for those purposes Insult an appraisal Last but not the least, NEVER PROVIDE UNREGISTERED DOMAINS FOR APPRAISALS For People giving Appraisals Appraisers should never do the following things when giving an appraisal. Giving a comment like "developed should be more value" Insult someone's domain Ask for Reputation (not appreciated) Provide an outright general appraisal. (domains are good when developed) Provide an incomplete appraisal such as- (low xx but should be developed) Terminology Here at domain Appraisals forum, people use some terminology which might be difficult for the new user to understand. Here it is, explained Reg Fee: Reg Fee means whatever the domain name was registered for X's: An X signifies the unit of the money figure. For example xx means 10-99, xxx means 100-999 and so on Low, Mid, High: Low X's mean 0 to 25% of the figure, Mid X's mean 26% to 75% of the figure and High X's mean 76% to 99% of the figure Developed/Development: This means that a domain name should be made into a website, content should be put, the site should get some reputation, backlinks should be made, publicity should be done etc. Niche: This means the market of the domain, where the domain is pointing at, for example a domain computergamerz.com would have a niche of Gaming. L's and N's: Sometimes you will see people saying LLLL, LLN, NLL etc. Here, L means Letters and N means Numbers, for example if someone says "I own a domain LLN.org, what do you think of it?" IT - As you know, it helped when submitting my site for appraisal. I didn't realize registration date was significant. I would suggest adding 'blending' and 'smartpricing' to the Terminology. Just learned what that was a minute ago. I think a lot of people would like to know more when you say "Remember that your Appraisal can change the route of someone's whole website future." I would. All in all, it's an excellent primer, and stands well alone. ok, maybe 'blending' and 'smartpricing' wouldn't fit this particular forum. Its so granular.
Just saw this one. Nice guide. maybe this kind of format will help other user better to understand the domain name. And they will be able to give proper appraisals rather then just xx or xxx things.
