    Hi All,

Thinking of new businesses which may have a new market is what i do in free times. I know this forum is full of budding webmasters. Please share your thought on these businesses and let me know about these. I will keep updating this thread slowly with time.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Making money curbing Piracy
    What is piracy??
Piracy is duplication of software, movies, music or any copyright material to use without the creators permission. Simple example, the music which is available to download for free without the music company’s permission is called pirated stuff.

Piracy and how to make money curbing piracy

    Organizations involved in piracy control:
In America are RIAA and MPAA are curbing piracy pretty fast. In India there it’s the IMI which does the same as RIAA and MPAA.

How curbing piracy may help you own a business:
We are just bothered about internet piracy. The idea is to hunt for software, games, music, movies, books etc available for download and then provide your research report to your clients (the copyright owner).

Part time/ Full time: You can start initially part time, but in long term you will be a consultant, so full time.

    What you will need?
A computer, internet, some searching abilities and proper contacts to find clients. You can always start with your sweet neighbor who writes books and doesn’t want any body to use it illegally.

PS: If any body needs such service please post it in comments. I’m sure you will find some professionals coming up for your help.

What this could mean for the copyright owners??
Well, to you it means business. Less piracy means more sales if there is demand for your product. Till now the only way to go was through a legal route. But now, you can take the help of a consultant and get what you deserve.

Please post comments and give your views.

    Ron

In simple words, you wrote a book, someone uploaded it on a site to download for free. 10 people download it and read.

I search the internet, find the links and send it to you. You report the links, sell more and pay me.

That's just an idea. What say? :D

I love the idea! It doesn't take too much talent and it would be easy to produce tons of results for the paying client!

The idea needs a lot more developing. How are you going to get clients? I would suggest contacting big software companies and game manufacturers to see if they would be interested in your services.

Put a good name on your company, don't just work out of your basement. Go out and register your business, get a nice logo, a slogan. Develop a mission statement (to curb software piracy), defiantly go all out.
And to be totally honest, I believe you have a good shot at this. However, it will take work and a lot of it. But if you do the work I can guarantee you will find an investor who will pump you full of money to start the business.

I'd love to give you some free business consulting advice if you ever need it. Just pm me and we can talk further.

    Hey.

So you guys think this idea is workable. kool, sounds realy good from your side. First step i think is definitely branding a client base. There are zillions of copy right owners. I think we just have to start a service as such and it will be Welcomed for sure.

I feel that it is good creative thinking > finding a niche or service that is needed but not yet filled in the past has may some people successful and very rich, BUT:

There so many ways for people online to share illegal copies of info or items - some are viewable to the public via search engines then i would assume there are heaps of underground forums and communites that are private.

Locating and even proving breach of copyright by a online identity may be possible but what can you do about it to stop that use is the question? Bcos you will be a private company with no legal power or authority so all you can do is contact the website or forum or whatever as a rep of the copyright owner and ask them nicely to ban the user and or remove the content. What if they dont are you willing to have legal reps act on their behave if they refuse to cooperate?

In the time it takes to stop one instant of copyright breach - many others may have already illegally shared or used it again elsewhere online..........

Im not a digital or copyrights legal expert but there is a lot of grey areas in the laws and systems in place to stop this especially where illegal use is happening or stored on a server in another country > legal cases involving many big companies like the movie/music industry and illegal distribution online in the past have turned into a nightmare bcos technology grows at a much faster rate than new laws can get approved and added :( Sometimes even government authorites dont have the power to shut down a website if its hosted in another country i think - unless they have strong diplomatic/political/financial ties to get around it maybe

Nice idea - i just dont know if its achievable or pratical

You may want to look into researching more on what is involved in the legal side and how you would do a business plan to attract funding or investment to start such a business.

    hi,

I really appreciate your input which has made me think about several points which i didn't consider. I'm actually thinking of a business model which can compete on the technology side itself. Any more inputs would be great.

    Thanks
    Ron

Business concept2- Documentation and Form's Management
We all have used forms at some point of our life. Filling up registration forms for school, college, banks etc is a very common thing. On average we fill 10-15 forms a year. So this business concept is based on application forms.

Making money filling Forms and managing them

    Prospects:

    * Education sector: There are millions of colleges worldwide. Students who want to join these colleges search for forms. In India still most of the colleges have forms offline. Also there are forms for several examinations which need to be filled in order to appear for the exams. So this is huge opportunity for growth.
    * Financial sector: Starting a bank account, buying insurance, loans, credit cards, mortgages, Income tax returns all require some or the other kind of forms.
    * Government related documents: Passport, PAN cards, Ration cards all require some forms to be filled up. No doubt every body has to fill up these.

Basic framework on: how to do create a business out of Application forms?

    * Build proper contacts: The forms should be acceptable by the organizations and companies where the application will be made. Look for serial numbers of forms. Don’t blindly scan and put the forms up for download.
    * Website: Create a website, do the SEO, promotion, and explain the users what exactly are services you are trying to provide.
    * Revenue generation: You can provide the forms free for download and then charge for premium services. This can be processing of the form and finally making the application. Especially for financial sector you can earn commission both ways, from the customer and for the financial organization where you are going to make an application.

Part time/ Full time: A long term venture, so definitely consider full time business.

    My Thought’s:

Document management is a booming business. Well, every single person requires documents someway or the other. Try to find more opportunities and cut down costs. This is a very low cost business and hence can be done by anybody. You can always outsource the content and design and work on administering the business. You can then open an office and bring more credibility to business.
