While looking through my google webmaster tools today, I noticed that my backlinks have not been updated since around May 25th. None of the links that have been posted in the last 6 weeks are showing up in my google webmaster tools. I know that google can be a little show on indexing links, but 6 weeks? In the past it has been more like 7 - 21 days and the link will usually appear in my webmaster tools or or would show up using the Link: command in google. Here lately it seems that google is getting slower and slower on indexing backlinks. Does anyone else think that link indexing is getting slower? I have posted several hundred links on related sites in the past month, and only a few have been indexed.
Google might have reduced the importance of your website. No new content daily. Other cause might be that those links comes from a slowly crawled or indexed websites. Just wait for some time.
They definitely seem to be showing slower than usual in inside the "Google Webmaster Tools", but they are being indexed as usual... I have noticed a slow down as well, but don't fret it. Just keep building and building backlinks and they will eventually show up. Since I don't have control over any of the Search Engines, I usually tell my customers that it takes between 1 month and generally up to 3 months to count and find your new backlinks. Don't Give Up!
I think over time google will take longer and longer to count backlinks, because they want to make sure they are actual links and not just spam links that will be deleted within weeks of being put up. Older links always have more weight in my experience.
